Role of ultrasound in detection of lymph-node metastasis in gynecological cancer: systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: To assess the diagnostic performance of transvaginal sonography (TVS) for the preoperative evaluation of lymph-node metastasis in gynecological cancer.

Methods: This was a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies published between January 1990 and May 2023 evaluating the role of ultrasound in detecting pelvic lymph-node metastasis (index test) in gynecological cancer, using histopathological analysis as the reference standard. The quality of included studies was assessed using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 tool.

Background: A paucity of predictive models assessing risk factors for COVID-19 mortality that extend beyond age and gender in Latino population is evident in the current academic literature.

Since its conceptualization ~50 years ago, there have been major improvements in its technology and utilization. The last decade, and particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic, has been marked by a growing interest and demand of CRRT in worldwide ICUs.

Background: Understanding demographic disparities in hospitalisation is crucial for the identification of vulnerable populations, interventions, and resource planning.

Methods: Data were from the Antiretroviral Therapy Cohort Collaboration (ART-CC) on people living with HIV in Europe and North America, followed up between January, 2007 and December, 2020. We investigated differences in all-cause hospitalisation according to gender and mode of HIV acquisition, ethnicity, and combined geographical origin and ethnicity, in people living with HIV on modern combination antiretroviral therapy (cART).
