The unique properties of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have driven their pervasive use in different industrial applications, leading to substantial environmental pollution and raising critical concerns about the long-term impacts on ecosystem and human health. To tackle the global challenge of PFAS contamination, there is an urgent need for sustainable and efficient remediation strategies. Phytoremediation has emerged as a promising eco-friendly approach with the potential to mitigate the spread of these persistent contaminants.

In this case report, we delineate the clinical presentation of a young collegiate soccer player who endured two years of progressive bilateral exertional calf pain and ankle weakness during athletic activity. The initial assessment yielded a diagnosis of chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS), predicated on the results of compartment testing.

The bioinspired support was obtained by the adsorption of S-layer proteins (isolated from ) on polyurethane particles. Silver and platinum nanoparticles were well-loaded on the surface of the support after the combination with metallic salts and reduction with H at room temperature.

Nicotine conjugation to stearic acid prior to SLN formulation greatly increased drug loading. SLNs loaded with a nicotine-stearic acid conjugate were characterized for size, polydispersity index (PDI), zeta potential (ZP), entrapment efficiency, and morphology.
