The objective of this article is to describe a case of suspected zonisamide-induced immune-mediated polyarthritis (IMPA) and anterior uveitis in a dog. A 7-year-old male neutered Siberian Husky with a history of refractory idiopathic epilepsy was presented for cluster seizures. Following the addition of zonisamide to the antiepileptic regime, the dog developed new IMPA and anterior uveitis.

Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is an alternative to alpha-spectrometry for the quantification of Ra. However, the performances of radioanalytical procedures are rarely compared in a rigorous framework, which means that researchers may choose one on subjective factors or guesses.

The contribution of sediments to the lake MMHg pool remained however unclear. In this work, seven cores representative of the contrasted sediments and aquatic ecotopes of Lake Titicaca were sliced and analyzed for Hg and redox-sensitive elements (Mn, Fe, N and S) speciation in pore-water (PW) and sediment to document early diagenetic processes responsible for MMHg production and accumulation in PW during organic matter (OM) oxidation.

At most sites, THg concentrations showed a decreasing trend with depth, ranging from 5 to 61 ng/g, implicating possible increased Hg deposition and/or riverine inputs in top sediment layers. MMHg values showed large oscillations within the top 10 cm of the cores.

Methods: Adult syphilis prevalence trends were fitted using the Spectrum-STI estimation tool, using data from ANC surveys and routine screening over 1997-2016. Estimates were combined with programmatic data to estimate numbers of treated and untreated pregnant women with syphilis and associated incidence congenital syphilis (CS) and CS-attributable adverse birth outcomes (ABO), which we compared with CS case reports.
