Background/objectives: In the REGOMA trial, regorafenib demonstrated an overall survival advantage over lomustine, and it has become a recommended treatment for recurrent glioblastoma in guidelines. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of regorafenib as a third-line treatment for patients with recurrent glioblastoma who progressed while taking bevacizumab-based therapy.

Methods: This retrospective, multicenter study in Turkey included 65 patients treated between 2021 and 2023 across 19 oncology centers.

Second-line chemotherapy is recommended for patients who have disease progression after first-line chemotherapy and have a good performance status. The aim of our study is thus to determine which chemotherapy regimen is more appropriate for second-line gastric cancer treatment. Patients were included if they met the following inclusion criteria: metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma pathology; no previous treatment for local gastric cancer (surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy); received first-line chemotherapy for metastatic gastric cancer and had the disease progress afterward; had adequate organ functions for second-line chemotherapy; had an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) score 0-2; and were HER-2 negative.

Background And Aim: The combination of cetuximab with platinum and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) chemotherapy prolongs survival in patients with metastatic or recurrent squamous-cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN). Although rare, symptomatic hypocalcemia may develop after the administration of phospho-soda. We herein present the case of a patient with phospho-soda-induced hypocalcemia who was surprisingly diagnosed with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1) caused by a heterozygous mutation in the MEN1 gene (c628_631delACAG), thus resulting in a frameshift mutation (210ThrfsX224). In addition to being the first report of phospho-soda-induced hypocalcemia in a patient with MEN1-associated primary hyperparathyroidism, our report highlights the complex nature of calcium balance in the human body and helps clinicians to appreciate how confounding factors might affect the presentation of endocrine disorders.
