Objective: The aim was to determine the effect of midwives' attitudes towards evidence-based practices in childbirth on mothers' perception and satisfaction with childbirth practices.

Material And Method: This cross-sectional study was carried out with the participation of 34 midwives working in the delivery rooms of three public hospitals in a province in the south of Türkiye and 287 postpartum women whose deliveries were facilitated by these midwives. A Personal Information Form and the Midwives' Evidence-Based Practices Attitude Scale during Labor (MEBPAS) were administered to the midwives.

This study was carried out to examine the spiritual well-being and depression levels of postpartum women following the two major earthquakes that occurred in 2023 with the epicenter Kahramanmaraş in Turkey. This cross-sectional analytical study was conducted with the participation of 345 postpartum women admitted to the maternity ward of a medical faculty hospital in the provincial center of Kahramanmaraş in Turkey between June and September 2023. Data were collected using the Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS) and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS).

Hydatid cyst is a zoonotic infestation caused by Echinococcus granulosus, and it is known that some parasites found in humans cause cancer in humans or some may have a protective effect against cancer. Cancer is one of the most serious health problems of today and it has been shown in some studies that parasites such as Echinococcus granulosus can have an inhibitory effect. The aim of this study was determined as whether Echinococcus granulosus has an inhibitory effect on exocrine pancreatic cancer with the help of the azaserine-rat model used in different cancer studies.

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between depression levels in midwives and nurses and their emotional labor and secondary traumatic stress levels in the COVID-19 pandemic process structural equation modelling. This cross-sectional study was conducted with 313 midwives and nurses. According to the model formed based on the presence of depression, as the Emotional Labor scores of the participants increased, their Beck Depression scores decreased 0.

Aim: The effect of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) on thiol levels was studied in a rat model of azaserine carcinogenesis.

Materials And Methods: ASA and azaserine were applied to the animals to research changes in cellular sulfhydryl (-SH) content and variations in free and protein-bound molecules containing the -SH group. Such effects in rats injected with azaserine were investigated at low (200 ppm) and high (400 ppm) concentrations of ASA over a relatively short (6 months) and a relatively long (12 months) period.

We studied the eco-toxic and carcinogenic effects of a commonly used 2,4-D acid iso-octylester herbicide on rat liver and pancreas. The rats in Group 1 were fed a standard feed and the rats in Group 2 were fed with standard feed to which was added 200 mg/kg/day 2,4-D acid iso-octylester for 16 weeks. Azaserine, 30 mg/kg/body weight, was injected into rats of Groups 3 and 4 to investigate the effects of 2,4-D acid iso-octylester on the development of neoplasms.

We investigated short (6 months) and long (12 months) term inhibitory effects of low (200 ppm) and high (400 ppm) dosages of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) on exocrine pancreatic carcinogenesis. It is known that exocrine pancreatic carcinogenesis can be detected by the presence of atypical acinar cell foci (AACF) in pancreas. We investigated possible inhibitory effects of acetylsalicylic acid in an azaserine-treated rat model.

We investigated whether the acrylamide formed during cooking carbohydrate-rich foods at high temperatures causes neoplastic changes in rat pancreas. Azaserine, which is an amino acid derivative that has the ability to initiate neoplastic changes in rat pancreas, was injected into 14-day-old male rats once a week for three weeks. Acrylamide was given to both azaserine-injected and non-injected rats at doses of 5 and 10 mg/kg/day in drinking water for 16 weeks after which tissue slides were prepared from the pancreata.

The mutagenic and carcinogenic effects of parathion-methyl were examined by bacterial reverse mutation assay and a long-term experiment with wistar rats. The potential mutagenic effect of parathion-methyl in Salmonella typhimurium TA100 bacterial cells was observed without rat liver S9 metabolic activation. Parathion-methyl was further investigated for pathological changes in rat pancreas and liver.

Propolis (bee glue) is a natural resinous hive product, collected from various plant sources. It has attracted much attention as a useful substance applied in medicine due to its pharmacological activities. It was aimed to investigate the in vitro effects of an ethanolic extract of Adana propolis samples on the growth of Leishmania tropica.

The objective of this study was to investigate if erythrocytes play a role in the maintenance of redox homeostasis of the plasma. Thus, we studied L-cysteine efflux and influx in vitro in human erythrocytes. In the present study, we exposed the erythrocytes to different concentrations of L-cysteine and then measured the intracellular free -SH concentrations.

The main objective of this study was to investigate the changes in free and protein-bound SH contents in methyl parathion-exposed rat tissues. The free and protein-bound SH levels are usually affected and depleted by oxidative stress-inducing agents. Results would indicate if methyl parathion toxicity partly results from depletion of sulfhydryl content of tissues.

There have been several attempts to prevent tumor formation and growth. However, none of the developed methods gives a completely satisfying result for the treatment of tumor masses. The most often used therapies against tumor cells are radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

The role of cholecystokinin (CCK) has been explored in pancreatic carcinogenesis following pancreatobiliary diversion (PBD), using the specific CCK receptor antagonist CR-1409. Male Wistar rats (n = 80) weighing 70-100 g were given weekly i.p.

Surgery for peptic ulcer disease may increase the risk of pancreatic cancer. The effect of duodenogastric reflux on pancreatic carcinogenesis was tested, and changes in the circulating levels of cholecystokinin (CCK) and gastrin were measured. Male Wistar rats (n = 40) weighing 250-300 g were randomized to undergo gastrotomy (control) or split gastrojejunostomy (to produce complete duodenogastric reflux) and then to receive azaserine (30 mg/kg/week intraperitoneally) or saline injections for 3 weeks.

The controversial issue of enhanced pancreatic carcinogenesis following partial gastrectomy has been explored in male Wistar rats (n = 40) weighing 250-300 g. Animals were randomised to receive either 60% distal gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y reconstruction or gastrotomy and resuture (control). Immediately after operation each group was further divided into two subgroups, receiving i.

Diets enriched with fat, especially unsaturated fat, promote experimental pancreatic carcinogenesis, but little is known of the effects of individual fatty acids. The effect of stearic and oleic acid on pancreatic fatty acids and atypical acinar cell nodules (preneoplastic lesions) was studied in 14-day-old weanling male Leeds strain rats (n = 60) given the carcinogen azaserine. Rats were allocated to one of six groups: untreated controls (n = 10), 20% stearic acid diet (n = 10), 20% oleic acid diet (n = 10), carcinogen alone (n = 10), carcinogen plus 20% stearic acid diet (n = 10) or carcinogen plus 20% oleic acid diet (n = 10).
