Objective: To report the long-term data of the Triple procedure (medialization laryngoplasty, adduction arytenopexy, and cricothyroid subluxation) regarding complications and revisions in a large cohort of patients.

Study Design: Retrospective case series.

Methods: This study included patients who underwent ≥1 components of the Triple procedure between January 2000 and July 2019.

Background: Antithrombotic therapy in atrial fibrillation is generally managed with the CHADS-VASc score. Aortic valve sclerosis (AVS) is a focal thickening of the aortic valve without a restriction of motion. AVS is related to several cardiovascular risk factors.

This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic role of the left ventricular (LV) global function index (LVGFI) in predicting major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome after long-term follow-up. This retrospective study included 718 patients with ST-elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI) and 781 patients with non-ST-elevated myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). The LVGFI was calculated on echocardiography with the following formula: (LV stroke volume/[LV cavity volume + LV myocardial volume]) × 100.

Methods: A total of 64 patients who presented with nasal obstruction due to chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps and 64 control subjects were included in this prospective instrument validation study.

Appraisal of transthoracic echocardiography for opportunistic screening of abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm is a life threatening disease. Most of the patients diagnosed incidentally because of the asymptomatic nature of this disease. This study aimed to determine the frequency of abdominal aortic aneurysm and evaluate the value of opportunistic screening during transthoracic echocardiography.

Assessment of side effects after serial intralesional steroid injections for idiopathic subglottic stenosis.

Purpose: To assess the incidence and severity of 12 systemic side effects of serial intralesional steroid injections (SILSI) in patients with idiopathic subglottic stenosis (iSGS).

Methods: This retrospective study included patients with iSGS who underwent SILSI with Triamcinolone 40 mg/dL. After SILSI, the patients were asked to answer 12 questions regarding frequently encountered systemic side effects of steroids.

The Impact of Septal Deviation on Intranasal Schirmer Test Values.

Objective: Intranasal Schirmer test serves as an objective measurement for evaluation of nasal secretion and humidity. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of septal deviation on nasal secretion and humidity by measuring the intranasal Schirmer test values in patients who had septal deviation and compare it to the values of our healthy volunteers.

Methods: The study included 52 patients with nasal septum deviation and 52 volunteers without any rhinologic complaints or deviated nasal septum.

An unusual cause of angina pectoris due to dynamic coronary artery compression and successful treatment with cardiac surgical reconstruction.

Extrinsic compression of coronary arteries causing angina pectoris is very unusual. No data regarding the optimal treatment for coronary artery compression due to dilated cardiac chambers have been reported. In this case report, we describe a man with severe mitral valve stenosis and the dilated left atrium, which resulted in coronary artery compression, and the successful management of his condition by surgical reconstruction.

Relations Between Hyoid-Related Cephalometric Measurements and Severity of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between the hyoid-related cephalometric measurements and the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) in patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Methods: A total of 56 subjects were evaluated by lateral cephalometric radiography and polysomnography (PSG). The OSA diagnosis was made according to the patients' AHI.

Purpose: To present a case of a patient with contralateral vision loss as a result of Purtscher-like retinopathy after an endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy and treatment with intravitreal tissue plasminogen activator injection.

Methods And Results: A 51-year-old woman who underwent a left endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy was referred with a complaint of decreased vision 1 day after surgery in her right eye. At the initial examination, the visual acuity of her right eye was hand motion.

Successful Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Chronic Total Occlusion of Left Anterior Descending Coronary Artery in a Patient with Dextrocardia.

Dextrocardia is a rare cardiac anomaly in which the heart is located in the right chest along with the cardiac long axis directing to the right and inferiorly. Although, it is a rare clinical phenomenon, coronary artery disease with dextrocardia is presumed to be of similar frequency as in the general population. Percutaneous coronary intervention has some technical difficulties in these patients.
