Article Synopsis
  • Endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) is crucial for detecting heart transplant rejections but suffers from inconsistent manual interpretation by pathologists, leading to unnecessary treatments and poor outcomes.
  • A new AI system has been developed to automate the analysis of EMB images, accurately detecting various types and grades of allograft rejection with high performance metrics.
  • In comparison to traditional methods, this AI system not only maintains equivalent accuracy but also reduces variability among different human reviewers, potentially enhancing the effectiveness of heart transplant monitoring.

Primary Pulmonary Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma is a recently described soft tissue tumor with challenging differential diagnosis both clinically and pathologically due to its rarity in this location. It may also occur as a secondary malignancy and its occurrence either as a somatic malignancy arising in the germ cell tumor or as a secondary malignancy after chemotherapy is questionable. In this report, we present a 29-year-old male patient with a mass in the lower lobe of the left lung, who underwent orchiectomy and received adjuvant chemotherapy due to a mixed germ cell tumor 8 years ago.

Antibiotic hypersensitivity reactions can lead to marked morbidity, mortality and inadequate treatment options. Mycobacterium abscessus infection is a difficult management system for clinicians since it most commonly involves the lungs, progresses if untreated, and the organism is resistant to many antibiotics, as well as the agents used in treatment can cause undesirable side effects. Although macrolides are one of the most reliable antibiotic groups in terms of allergic reactions, early type hypersensitivity reactions against macrolides, one of the main antibiotics used in the treatment of Mycobacterium abscessus lung disease, may make the treatment management of the disease difficult.

Aim: The terminology of "noninvasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features" (NIFTP) was introduced in 2016; and estimated to cause significant effects in the clinical management of thyroid nodules. The aim of our study is to review our cases that were previously diagnosed as non-invasive encapsulated follicular variant PTC (NI/E-FVPTC) which are compatible with NIFTP and to correlate their follow-up.

Method: All thyroidectomy cases evaluated in the last 15 years were screened, and possible NIFTP cases were determined among patients with NI/E-FVPTC and they were re-examined microscopically.

Introduction: Solid variant papillary thyroid cancer (SVPTC) is a rare variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and its prognostic value is still unclear. Therefore, we re-evaluate the histopathological and clinicopathological features of 28 patients with SVPTC in the light of current literature.

Material-methods: Of the 1308 cases were previously diagnosed with PTC and 28 (2,1%) of them which had been diagnosed with SVPTC were re-evaluated retrospectively.
