The MDM2-p53 pathway plays a pivotal role in regulating cell cycle and apoptosis, with its dysfunction contributing to approximately 50% of human malignancies. MDM2, an E3 ubiquitin ligase, targets the tumour suppressor p53 for degradation, thereby promoting uncontrolled cell growth in cancers. Inhibiting the MDM2-p53 interaction represents a promising therapeutic strategy for reactivating p53's tumour-suppressive functions.

We aimed to develop a novel tool, the Empathy, Life with Cancer, and Psychosocial Skills (ELPIS) Scale that prioritizes emotional and cognitive components in order to determine the reflection of the negative stigmatization of cancer in societies on individuals, excluding the behavioral and ethical dimensions of empathy. The study was conducted using a quantitative research design with a sample of first- and second-year medical students in Türkiye.

However, emerging evidence suggests possible long-term effects, including its role in carcinogenesis. This comprehensive review explores the complex relationship between COVID-19 and cancer development, focusing on immune dysregulation, chronic inflammation, genetic and epigenetic alterations, and the impact of therapeutic interventions.

Background: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between serum uric acid level at diagnosis and asymptomatic brain metastasis in patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer.
Methods: A total of 69 patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer without symptomatic brain metastases, whose serum uric acid level was measured at the time of diagnosis, were included in this retrospective cross-sectional study. The patients were divided into two groups as those with and without asymptomatic brain metastases.
Introduction: This study aimed to show the relationship between the serum uric acid level measured at diagnosis and the BRAF mutation status in the primary tumor tissue in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.
Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, 264 patients (64% male) whose serum uric acid level was measured at the time of diagnosis and whose BRAF mutation status in the primary tumor was determined were included.
Results: The BRAF mutation rate was 14% (n = 37).

Background/aim: Cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) are proteins that require the binding of regulatory subunits called cyclins and play a key role in cell cycle progression and activation. CDKs play a key role in carcinogenesis of many solid malignancies, and inhibition of these proteins has produced anti-cancer effects demonstrated in preclinical studies. This narrative review was conducted to develop a hypothetical approach to determine whether Speedy/RINGO, a protein associated with CDK2, could be a possible predictive factor in breast cancer patients treated with a CDK4/6 inhibitor.

This study aims to delineate the clinical features, survival patterns, and treatment modalities of ACC, providing insights into the disease's prognosis.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis of 157 ACC patients was performed to assess treatment methodologies, demographic patterns, pathological and clinical attributes, and laboratory results.
Background: Music and medicine can be used in patients with cancer as a palliative complementary therapy. It is aimed to show the effect of music therapy performed on anxiety, depression, and chemotherapy-related nausea/vomiting.
Methods: A total of 62 patients with colon cancer who previously experienced grade 1 or 2 chemotherapy-related nausea and vomiting were divided into two groups as intervention and control group based on the addition of music and medicine to infusion chemotherapies and 1:1 randomized.
Background: Most of the studies on salivary gland cancers are limited for various reasons such as being single-center, small number of patients, including only major or minor SGCs, or only including epidemiological data.
Methods: A total of 37 medical oncology clinics from different regions of Turkey participated in this retrospective-multicenter study. The analyzed data included clinical and demographical features, primary treatment, metastasis localizations, and treatments and includes certain pathologic features.
Background: There is no standard treatment recommended at category 1 level in international guidelines for subsequent therapy after cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6) based therapy. We aimed to evaluate which subsequent treatment oncologists prefer in patients with disease progression under CDKi. In addition, we aimed to show the effectiveness of systemic treatments after CDKi and whether there is a survival difference between hormonal treatments (monotherapy vs.

It was aimed to determine the relationship between type A personality traits and self-esteem and quality of life in women with breast cancer and to determine the effective factors. 154 women with breast cancer and 78 healthy women were included.

The most common histological subtypes of soft tissue sarcoma in adults are: liposarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, poorly differentiated pleomorphic sarcoma, and gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Molecular and genetic studies of soft tissue sarcomas, which are considered as heterogeneous groups in terms of their molecular and clinical characteristics, are still an important area of interest The heterogeneity of the molecular and genetic alterations of these malignancies, which are mostly treated with surgery and chemotherapy, also offers hope to the researchers in terms of treatment targets.

Methods: Overall, 204 HR+, HER2- MBC patients treated with EVE + EXE after progressing following prior endocrine treatment were included. Overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) and safety data were analyzed.
Objectives: Endometrial endometrioid carcinoma (EEC) is the most encountered subtype of endometrial cancer (EC). Our study aimed to investigate the factors affecting recurrence in patients with stage 1A and 1B EEC.
Material And Methods: Our study included 284 patients diagnosed with the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage 1A/1B EEC in our center from 2010 to 2018.
Endometrial endometrioid carcinoma (EEC) represents approximately 75-80% of endometrial carcinoma cases. Three hundred and thirty-six patients with EEC followed-up in the authors' medical center between 2010 and 2018 were included in our study. Two hundred and seventy-two low and intermediate EEC patients were identified using the European Society for Medical Oncology criteria and confirmed by histopathological examination.

Marginal zone lymphomas (MZLs) are rare and indolent subtypes of non-Hodgkin lymphomas, and their clinical behaviours are heterogeneous. The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical and prognostic characteristics of MZL. In this multicentre retrospective study, we analyzed demographical, clinical and prognostic features of 64 MZL patients.

While its prognosis is generally favorable, disease recurrence is relatively frequent. Because morbidity after repeated surgery may be significant, an optimized prediction of recurrence-free survival (RFS) has the potential to improve current management strategies.
