Sphenoid Bone Dysplasia: A Rare Cause of Compressive Optic Neuropathy Mimicking Glaucoma.

Fibrous dysplasia is a benign, rare bone disease in which bone is replaced by fibro-osseous tissue to varying degrees. It can present differently depending on the amount of compression caused by the fibro-osseous tissue. Patients are usually asymptomatic, but symptoms related to cranial nerve compression may occur.

Unilateral Abducens Nerve Palsy with Ipsilateral Horner's Syndrome as an Initial Manifestation of Recurrent Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma.

A 62-year-old man was admitted to our clinic with a two-week history of double vision. Neuro-ophthalmological examination showed a left abducens nerve palsy with an ipsilateral Horner's syndrome. Neuro-imaging identified recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma explaining the clinical findings.

Anatomic variations of the pancreatic duct and their relevance with the Cambridge classification system: MRCP findings of 1158 consecutive patients.

Background: The study was conducted to evaluate the frequencies of the anatomic variations and the gender distributions of these variations of the pancreatic duct and their relevance with the Cambridge classification system as morphological sign of chronic pancreatitis using magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP).

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 1312 consecutive patients who referred to our department for MRCP between January 2013 and August 2015. We excluded 154 patients from the study because of less than optimal results due to imaging limitations or a history of surgery on pancreas.

Effects of cigarette smoking on cortical thickness in major depressive disorder.

Findings of surface-based morphometry studies in major depressive disorder (MDD) are still inconsistent. Given that cigarette smoking is highly prevalent in MDD and has documented negative effects on the brain, it is possible that some of the inconsistencies may be partly explained by cigarette use. The aim of the current study was to examine the influence of cigarette smoking on brain structure in MDD.

Radiological Evaluation of the Line Between the Crista Iliaca (Tuffier's line) in Elderly Patients.

Objective: Tuffier's line is defined as the line connecting the highest points of both iliac crests, which generally passes through either the body of the fourth lumbar vertebra or the intervertebral space between fourth and fifth vertebrae. In this study, we assessed the radiological correlation of the level of Tuffier's line with changes in age and sex.

Methods: In this study, antero-posterior pelvic X-rays of 590 patients aged 18 and older were retrospectively analyzed.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumor of Meckel's diverticulum: a rare cause of intestinal volvulus.

Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital abnormality of the gastrointestinal tract. Most cases are asymptomatic; however, when symptomatic, it is often misdiagnosed at presentation. Common complications presenting in adults include bleeding, obstruction, diverticulitis, and perforation.
