This study aimed to assess the suitability of the potential solid waste landfill sites in seven provinces (Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Gümüşhane, Bayburt and Artvin) in the Eastern Blacksea Region of Türkiye. The earthquake hazard analysis for two major earthquakes which occurred in the region was first carried out. Then, the geophysical methods including seismic refraction tomography (SRT), electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) were conducted to find out the structural and physical properties of the subsurface which include the layering, soil classification based on V and the groundwater content at 25 locations of 13 in target provinces.

The ketene dithioacetal 3 generated from 2-nitroperchlorobutadiene 1 reacted with various heterocyclic amines and aliphatic, aromatic and heterocyclic thiols to produce functionalized new ketene-N,S,S-acetals and S,S,S-acetals 4a-f, 5a-h as heterocyclic dithiolanes. They were separated/purified by chromatographic methods and their exact structure characterization were made clear by spectroscopic methods. These compounds synthesized could act as effective drugs for versatile activity.

The studies on nitronaphthoquinone derivatives are rare in the literature, and the nitro group associated with the aromatic ring in the quinone system is known to increase the biological activity of naphthoquinone due to its electron-withdrawing properties. In the course of quinone derivatives, the new N(H)-substituted-5-nitro-1,4-naphthoquinones (NQ) as regioisomers were synthesized by reactions of 2,3-dichloro-5-nitro-1,4-naphthoquinone with some heterocyclic ring substituted nucleophiles such as anilines, piperazines, or morpholines, according to a Michael 1,4-addition mechanism. Five NQ regioisomer couples having different functional group (2-chloro-isomers 3, 5, 7, 9 and 13; 3-chloro-isomers 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12) are reported here.

The current correlational study examined the individual (self-regulation) and social (self-construal, parental practices) antecedents of social value orientations (SVO) among middle adolescents and emerging adults. The sample consisted of randomly selected 218 middle adolescents (ages 14-15) and 219 emerging adults (ages 19-25) and their parents in a metropolitan area of Ankara, Turkey. The results revealed that emerging adults have more prosocial SVO than adolescents.
