Bullying Among Special Education Students.

The purpose of the study is to examine traditional and cyberbullying among the students with special education needs attending special education schools. Additionally, traditional and cyber victimization among special education students have been examined in terms of gender and grade levels. A sample of the present study consists of 295 students with special education needs (177 gifted, 118 deaf) attending segregated special education schools.

Pregnancy loss experiences of couples in a phenomenological study: Gender differences within the Turkish sociocultural context.

Despite the high prevalence of miscarriage and stillbirth, prenatally bereaved couples tend to experience a sense of isolation or loneliness after their loss. The purpose of this study was to describe the prenatal loss experiences of partners from a sociocultural perspective. Data were gathered via semi-structured interviews with 10 couples ( = 20).

Impacts of Urban Terror Attacks on Turkish Mothers' Daily Experiences.

This phenomenological study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the day-to-day experiences of Turkish women with caregiving responsibilities in terms of (a) how they respond to and regulate their lives around the fear of terror, (b) how their caregiving roles affect their reactions, and (c) how they cope with terrorism induced distress in their day-to-day life. A total of 21 women were interviewed for the study about their daily experiences following terrorist attacks that occurred in their urban hometowns. The qualitative analysis program called Atlas.

Motives Behind Cyberbullying Perpetration: A Test of Uses and Gratifications Theory.

Drawing from , this study explored the interplay between personality traits (online disinhibition, moral disengagement, narcissism, and aggression) and cyberbullying perpetration motives (entertainment, revenge, harm, and dominance) through structural equation modeling. The participants were a convenience sample of 598 cyber bully-victims who were Turkish university students (229 females, 362 males, and seven unknown). The findings empirically supported for conceptualization of cyberbullying perpetration.

Death rituals, religious beliefs, and grief of Turkish women.

Grief following a death loss is a common experience that all individuals face at some point in life. There, however, are only a few in-depth studies regarding grief in cultures around the world and specific roles that rituals and beliefs related to death may have in the grieving process. Results of interview data from eight grieving Turkish women revealed three themes: (a) metaphors of loss, (b) funeral rituals, and (c) rituals in relation to control and personal factors.

Examining the cultural validity of fear survey schedule for children: the contemporary fears of Turkish children and adolescents.

Peer victimization, rumination, and problem solving as risk contributors to adolescents' depressive symptoms.

The author examined the integration of 2 studies of literature on the development of depressive symptoms in adolescents, addressing ruminative coping styles and peer victimization. In particular, the author tested whether increasing levels of victimization and rumination along with perceived problem solving skills in Turkish adolescents are predictive of depressive symptoms. Participants were 250 adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18 years.

Examination of cyberbullying experiences among Turkish students from different school types.

The purpose of this study was to examine the nature of cyberbullying experiences among public and private school students in Turkey. One hundred eighty-three participants between the ages of 14 and 15 were recruited for the study. Participants were asked to respond to questionnaires measuring demographic information, usage frequency of Internet-mediated communication tools (IMCT), and cyberbullying experience (as a victim and as a bully).
