The aim of this study was to compare the performance, egg quality and economic aspects of laying hybrids of different genotypes in free-range system. In the study, three different laying genotypes (Lohmann Brown, Lohmann Sandy and ATAK-S genotype) were used. Each group consisted of four replicates and each replicate contained 20 hens.

Development, Evaluation, and Molecular Dynamics Study of Ampicillin-Loaded Chitosan-Hyaluronic Acid Films as a Drug Delivery System.

Periodontitis is an inflammatory periodontal disease defined by the progressive loss of tissues surrounding the tooth. Ampicillin is an antibiotic for managing and treating specific bacterial infections, including periodontitis. Periodontal pockets occur due to periodontal disease progression and act as a natural reservoir that is easily reachable for the insertion of a delivery system, and the amount of drug to be released has a major role in the efficiency of treatment of the disease.

Evaluation of Fetal Breathing-Related Nasal Fluid Flow Doppler in the Third Trimester in Pregnant Women with Fetal Growth Restriction: Preliminary Observations.

Objective: To investigate the fetal breathing-related nasal fluid flow Doppler waveforms as an indicator of fetal respiratory function in fetuses diagnosed with fetal growth restriction (FGR) in the third trimester.

Materials And Methods: This prospective, non-interventional case-control study was conducted on 96 pregnant women, including 23 pregnant women diagnosed with FGR in the third trimester as the FGR group and 73 healthy pregnant women with fetuses appropriate for gestational age (AGA) as the control group. Fetal breathing-related nasal fluid flow Doppler was examined in the fetuses of the participants.

Vitamin D: An Overlooked Parameter in Studies of Depression Using Optic Coherence Tomography.

Introduction: The relationship between depression and inflammation and the resulting vascular/neuronal damage have been demonstrated in recent studies. In this study we aimed to investigate inflammation and the possible degeneration that can be caused by depression and accompanying vitamin D deficiency using a non-invasive imaging method of optical coherence tomography (OCT).

Methods: Twenty-four healthy controls and 42 drug free major depressive patients matched for age, sex and eye measurements were compared in terms of vitamin D, C Reactive Protein (CRP) and OCT parameters.

Pathogens in Pediatric Septic Arthritis: A Multi-Center Study in Turkiye (PEDSART Study).

Objectives: Septic arthritis (SA) is a serious bacterial infection that must be treated efficiently and timely. The large number of culture-negative cases makes local epidemiological data important. Accordingly, this study aimed to evaluate the etiology, clinical characteristics, and therapeutic approach of SA in children in Turkiye, emphasizing the role of real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) techniques in the diagnosis.

Evaluation of the Effect of Honey-Containing Chitosan/Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogels on Wound Healing.

The 3D polymeric network structure of hydrogels imitates the extracellular matrix, thereby facilitating cell growth and differentiation. In the current study, chitosan/hyaluronic acid/honey coacervate hydrogels were produced without any chemicals or crosslinking agents and investigated for their wound-healing abilities. Chitosan/hyaluronic acid/honey hydrogels were characterized by FTIR, SEM, and rheology analysis.

Polyphosphate coated nanoparticles: Enzyme-activated charge-reversal gene delivery systems.

Aim: The current study aimed to develop enzyme-activated charge-reversal lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) as novel gene delivery systems.

Methods: Palmitic acid was covalently bound to protamine being utilised as transfection promoter to anchor it on the surfaces of LNPs. Green fluorescent protein (GFP) encoding plasmid DNA (pDNA) was ion paired with various cationic counter ions to achieve high encapsulation in LNPs.

Preparation and characterization of curcumin loaded Chitosan-Hyaluronic acid polyelectrolyte complex based hydrogels.

Objective: The manuscript aims to prepare and comprehensively characterize curcumin-loaded chitosan-hyaluronic acid polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) hydrogels through assessments. By elucidating the formulation process, physicochemical attributes, and drug release kinetics, the study contributes to the producing of curcumin loaded new drug delivery system.

Significance: This approach shows the unique synergy of the chosen polymers with curcumin.

Congenital Cytomegalovirus Infection Screening in Newborns From Saliva Samples by Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction Analysis.

Objective: Congenital cytomegalovirus infection is the most common congenital infection. Although screening of congenital cytomegalovirus infection with polymerase chain reaction studies in blood, urine, and saliva samples has been developed in recent years, it is not yet in routine use in any country.

Materials And Methods: In our study, cytomegalovirus deoxyribonucleic acid analysis was per- formed by real-time polymerase chain reaction method in saliva samples taken before the first feeding during the first day following birth in neonates born in a university hospital between January 2021 and January 2022.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a viral infection, is a significant health problem worldwide. Prestin is a motor protein with important functions both in the outer hair cells of the inner ear and in cardiac tissue.

Can platelet count be controlled with ticagrelor in patients with essential thrombocythaemia? A case series.

Background: Essential thrombocythaemia (ET) is defined as a myeloproliferative neoplasm with a tendency to haemorrhage and thrombosis. Acute coronary thrombosis can be observed in 1 out of 10 patients. The management of ET patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a complex clinical condition that requires close follow-up.

The Efficiency of Diffusion-weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the Differentiation of Malign and Benign Cavitary Lung Lesions.

Purpose: The present study investigates the diagnostic efficiency of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in differentiating between malignant and benign cavitary lesions on diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI).

Materials And Methods: This prospective study included 45 consecutive patients identified with a cavitary lung lesion with a wall thickness of ≥5 mm on thoracic computed tomography in our clinic between 2020 and 2022, and who underwent thoracic DWI within 1 week of their original computed tomography. ADC measurements were made on DWI by drawing a region of interest manually from the cavity wall, away from the lung parenchyma in the axial section where the lesion was best demonstrated.

Entanglement Dynamics of Coupled Quantum Oscillators in Independent NonMarkovian Baths.

This work strives to better understand how the entanglement in an open quantum system, here represented by two coupled Brownian oscillators, is affected by a nonMarkovian environment (with memories), here represented by two independent baths each oscillator separately interacts with. We consider two settings, a 'symmetric' configuration wherein the parameters of both oscillators and their baths are identical, and an 'asymmetric' configuration wherein they are different, in particular, a 'hybrid' configuration, where one of the two coupled oscillators interacts with a nonMarkovian bath and the other with a Markovian bath. Upon finding the solutions to the Langevin equations governing the system dynamics and the evolution of the covariance matrix elements entering into its entanglement dynamics, we ask two groups of questions: (Q1) Which time regime does the bath's nonMarkovianity benefit the system's entanglement most? The answers we get from detailed numerical studies suggest that (A1) For an initially entangled pair of oscillators, we see that in the intermediate time range, the duration of entanglement is proportional to the memory time, and it lasts a fraction of the relaxation time, but at late times when the dynamics reaches a steady state, the value of the symplectic eigenvalue of the partially transposed covariance matrix barely benefit from the bath nonMarkovianity.

Cavum septum pellucidum nomogram during the second trimester of pregnancy.

This study aimed to determine cavum septum pellucidum (CSP) nomogram values between 15-28 weeks of gestation. Routine biometric measurements and CSP width were measured by transabdominal ultrasonography in 6042 structurally normal foetuses between 15-28 weeks of gestation. Distribution of CSP width by the week of pregnancy and percentile values were calculated.

A Study to Compare Bioequivalence Approach Between FDA and EMA in a Highly Variable Drug: Pinaverium Bromide Film Tablets.

The aim of this study is to investigate pharmacokinetic parameters of test and reference film tablet formulations of a highly variable drug, pinaverium bromide, under fasting conditions and to assess their bioequivalence in accordance with the FDA and EMA criteria. A randomised open-label, single oral dose, three-sequence, three-period, semi-replicated, cross-over trial was conducted with 36 healthy subjects. The intrasubject variability of reference products for C and AUC was found to be more than 50%.

Quantum-parametric-oscillator heat engines in squeezed thermal baths: Foundational theoretical issues.

In this paper we examine some foundational issues of a class of quantum engines where the system consists of a single quantum parametric oscillator, operating in an Otto cycle consisting of four stages of two alternating phases: the isentropic phase is detached from any bath (thus a closed system) where the natural frequency of the oscillator is changed from one value to another, and the isothermal phase where the system (now rendered open) is put in contact with one or two squeezed baths of different temperatures, whose nonequilibrium dynamics follows the Hu-Paz-Zhang (HPZ) master equation for quantum Brownian motion. The HPZ equation is an exact non-Markovian equation which preserves the positivity of the density operator and is valid for (1) all temperatures, (2) arbitrary spectral density of the bath, and (3) arbitrary coupling strength between the system and the bath. Taking advantage of these properties we examine some key foundational issues of theories of quantum open and squeezed systems for these two phases of the quantum Otto engines.

Development of ACE2 loaded decoy liposomes and their effect on SARS-CoV-2 for Covid-19 treatment.

SARS-CoV-2 is a novel coronavirus with a positively oriented single-stranded RNA that first appeared in December 2019. In this study, Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2) loaded decoy liposomes were developed and characterized. ACE2 protein was loaded onto a liposomal carrier system and its toxicity and effectiveness were evaluated in cell culture and virus neutralization studies.

We aimed to assess prenatal features of VGAM and describe postnatal outcomes. This was a retrospective study involving six foetuses diagnosed with VGAM prenatally in two centres.
