Objective: To analyze the influence of the impairment of social cognitive functions (SCF) in acute phase of ischemic stroke (IS) on its functional outcomes in 6 months.

Material And Methods: One hundred patients with IS were included in the study. The assessment of social-demographic, clinical characteristics and SCF (theory of mind (ToM), affective empathy, social empathy) of the patients on the day 10 after stroke was conducted.

This work focuses on the comparison of H evolution in the hydrolysis of boron-containing hydrides (NaBH, NHBH, and (CHNHBH)) over the Co metal catalyst and the CoO-based catalysts. The CoO catalysts were activated in the reaction medium, and a small amount of CuO was added to activate CoO under the action of weaker reducers (NHBH, (CHNHBH)). The high activity of CoO has been previously associated with its reduced states (nanosized CoB).

[Emotional disorders after stroke].

Zh Nevrol Psikhiatr Im S S Korsakova

December 2023

Emotional disorders are common among patients after stroke. They include anger, fear, emotional expression control (uncontrollable crying, laughing), emotional indifference (apathy), disorders of emotion recognition and emotional empathy. They might develop independently or as a presentation of depression, anxiety, catastrophic reaction, posttraumatic stress disorder etc.

Chlorine- and nitrogen-containing carbon nanofibers (CNFs) were obtained by combined catalytic pyrolysis of trichloroethylene (CHCl) and acetonitrile (CHCN). Their efficiency in the adsorption of 1,2-dichlorobenzene (1,2-) from water has been studied. The synthesis of CNFs was carried out over self-dispersing nickel catalyst at 600 °C.

Holometabolous insects are predominantly motionless during metamorphosis, when no active feeding is observed and the body is enclosed in a hardened cuticle. These physiological properties as well as undergoing processes resemble embryogenesis, since at the pupal stage organs and systems of the imago are formed. Therefore, recapitulation of the embryonic expression program during metamorphosis could be hypothesized.

Magnetically recovered Co and Co@Pt catalysts for H generation during NaBH hydrolysis were successfully synthesized by optimizing the conditions of galvanic replacement method. Commercial aluminum particles with an average size of 80 µm were used as a template for the synthesis of hollow shells of metallic cobalt. Prepared Co was also subjected to galvanic replacement reaction to deposit a Pt layer.

Low socioeconomic status increases the risk of development of stroke by 67%, it also has negative influence on its severity and outcomes. The mortality among stroke survivors with low socioeconomic status is higher by 39% in comparison to those with high socioeconomic status. The link between socioeconomic status and increased risk of stroke and its poor outcomes could be explained by higher frequency of vascular risk factors, lower compliance, late presentation to hospital after a stroke onset and lower access to high-quality specialized medical care in some countries.

Social cognitive functions used to encode and decode social information, and are critical for people to understand themselves and others, as well as the norms and procedures of the social world. They could be subdivided into theory of mind, social perception, affective empathy and social behavior. From neuroanatomical viewpoint disorders of social cognitive functions are related to the dysfunction of the certain areas of frontal and temporal lobes of the brain and their connections.

In this work two approaches to the synthesis of energetic complex compound Ni(Im)(NO) from imidazole and nicklel (II) nitrate were applied: a traditional synthesis from solution and a solvent-free melting-assisted method. According to infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, elemental and thermal analysis data, it was shown that the solvent-free melt synthesis is a faster, simpler and environmentally friendly method of Ni(Im)(NO) preparation. The results show that this compound is a promising precursor for the production of nanocrystalline Ni-NiO materials by air-assisted combustion method.

The paper presents a comparative study of the activity of magnetite (FeO) and copper and cobalt ferrites with the structure of a cubic spinel synthesized by combustion of glycine-nitrate precursors in the reactions of ammonia borane (NHBH) hydrolysis and hydrothermolysis. It was shown that the use of copper ferrite in the studied reactions of NHBH dehydrogenation has the advantages of a high catalytic activity and the absence of an induction period in the H generation curve due to the activating action of copper on the reduction of iron. Two methods have been proposed to improve catalytic activity of FeO-based systems: (1) replacement of a portion of Fe cations in the spinel by active cations including Cu and (2) preparation of highly dispersed multiphase oxide systems, involving oxide of copper.

The effect of different regimes of combustion of glycine-nitrate precursors on the formation of perovskite phases (LaMnO and LaCrO) without additional heat treatment was studied. The following three combustion regimes were compared: the traditional solution combustion synthesis (SCS), volume combustion synthesis (VCS) using a powdered precursor, and self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) using a precursor pellet. The products of combustion were studied using a series of physicochemical methods (attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy (ATR FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and thermal analysis).
