Objective: To define the clinical, histopathological features and the prognostic factors affecting survival in patients with adult granulosa cell tumors of the ovary (AGCT).

Methods: A 322 patients whose final pathologic outcome was AGCT treated at nine tertiary oncology centers between 1988 and 2021 participated in the study.

Results: The mean age of the patients was 51.

Only 2% of all breast cancers are metastatic, making them extremely uncommon. They are frequently mistaken for a primary breast tumor. Although it has been observed, metastatic spread from primary uterine cancers is extremely uncommon.

Purpose: We asked why endometrial cancer sometimes vanishes.

Methods: A total of 454 patients diagnosed with endometrioid-type endometrial cancer (EC) (via endometrial sampling) and treated in our clinic over the past 5 years were enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups: vanishing and residual, depending on whether a tumor was detected in the postoperative hysterectomy specimen.

Hole-doped LiBC has become of great interest as a candidate for high-temperature superconductivity with its structural similarity to MgB and as a possible cathode for rechargeable lithium batteries with the large graphenelike BC hexagons. The limitation on synthesis studies has detracted from the structural and electronic properties and application studies of Li BC. Here, we present the successful synthesis of hole-doped LiBC and its structural and electronic characterization using detailed structural modeling based on a unique stage-2 Daumas-Hérold-type domain structure consistent with X-ray diffraction data.

The compressibility and phase stability of Y bB(2) are investigated under high pressure using high-resolution synchrotron x-ray diffraction in a diamond anvil cell. The bulk modules of high purity Y bB(2) is obtained as ∼182 GPa using the Birch-Murnaghan equation of state. The patterns measured up to 20 GPa and the pressure dependence of normalized lattice parameters, a/a(0) and c/c(0), reveal that the compressibility of Y bB(2) is low and fairly isotropic, and this material can be classified as a hard material.

Objective: To compare the obstetric outcome of induction of labor at 41 weeks and of follow-up until 42 weeks and induction if the patient has still not given birth at 42 weeks.

Study Design: Six hundred women at 287+/-1 days of gestation with definitely unfavorable cervical scores were randomized to labor induction (N=300) or spontaneous follow-up (N=300) with twice-weekly nonstress testing and amniotic fluid measurement and once-weekly biophysical scoring. The treatments used in the induction group were (1) vaginal administration of 50 microg misoprostol (n=100), (2) oxytocin induction (n=100), and (3) transcervical insertion of a Foley balloon (n=100).
