The kefir-based smoothies with kale and spinach were designed as a ready-to-drink and innovative functional snack. Microbiological, physicochemical, as well as pre- and postgastrointestinal total antioxidant capacity (TAC; CUPRAC, DPPH, and FRAP) analyses were conducted. It was determined that the kefir-based smoothies with vegetables had higher ash, carbohydrate, and dietary fiber values.

In this research, 407 patients treated with the diagnosis of diabetic foot between January 2009-September 2019 in Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in the Department of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine were retrospectively evaluated.

Challenges Faced by Medical Rescue Teams During Disaster Response: A Systematic Review Study.

This study was conducted to identify the challenges faced by medical rescue teams during the response phase of sudden-onset disasters and provide a comprehensive understanding of these challenges. Peer-reviewed, English-language articles published until January 2023 that described the challenges faced by medical rescue teams during disaster response were searched in the Web of Science, Scopus, Cochrane, PubMed, and Science Direct databases. The articles were assessed using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) version 2018, a quality evaluation tool, and a qualitative thematic synthesis approach was adopted.

Objectives: Neurocognitive functions of children with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) are reported to be poorer than those of healthy peers. The aim was to investigate the effects of age of onset of diabetes, metabolic control, and type of insulin regimen on neurocognitive functions in children and adolescents with T1D.

Methods: 407 patients with DFUs (286 male, 121 female; mean age = 60, age range = 32-92) who were managed in a tertiary care centre from 2009 to 2019 were retrospectively identified and included in the study. Prenatal ultrasound findings of covered bladder exstrophy and persistent cloaca.

Unlike classic exstrophy, covered bladder exstrophy is a rare variant characterized by a cycling bladder and intact abdominal wall. We present a case of covered bladder exstrophy diagnosed prenatally and associated persistent cloaca (PC) noted only after delivery. This case report demonstrates that prenatal diagnosis of covered bladder exstrophy is possible and PC can present without any abdominal cysts, bowel, or renal findings.

In this study, polymer-ceramic nanocomposites and/or composites were prepared by solution removal method using poly(methylmethacrylat) (PMMA) and nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA). They were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared-attenuated total reflection spectroscopy (FTIR-ATR), and differential thermal analysis/thermogravimetry (DTA/TG). Their effects and biocompatibilities on antioxidant enzymes were also investigated in detail.
