: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the Kaiser score (KS) on the modified abbreviated breast magnetic resonance imaging (AB-MRI) protocol for characterizing breast lesions by comparing it with full-protocol MRI (FP-MRI), using the histological data as the reference standard. : Breast MRIs detecting histologically verified contrast-enhancing breast lesions were evaluated retrospectively. A modified AB-MRI protocol was created from the standard FP-MRI, which comprised axial fat-suppressed T2-weighted imaging (T2WI), pre-contrast T1-weighted imaging (T1WI), and first, second, and fourth post-contrast phases.

We evaluated to effects of PTNS on continence results after extraperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (eLRP) with three trocars during early post operative period.
Methods: Prospectively recorded data of eLRP with three trocars was retrospectively reviewed for continence results between January 2017 and April 2024.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability and quality of information provided by artificial intelligence chatbots regarding the diagnosis, preventive methods, and treatment of contrast-associated acute kidney injury, while also discussing their benefits and drawbacks.
Methods: The most frequently asked questions regarding contrast-associated acute kidney injury on Google Trends between January 2022 and January 2024 were posed to four artificial intelligence chatbots: ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and Perplexity. The responses were evaluated based on the DISCERN score, the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Printable Materials score, the Web Resource Rating scale, the Coleman-Liau index, and a Likert scale.
Background: Oral health and edentulism significantly impact quality of life (QoL). However, the relationship between oral health-related quality of life (OHQoL) and sexual function remains unclear.
Aim: To assess OHQoL and the prevalence of sexual dysfunction (SD) in women before and after oral rehabilitation.

In this study, the quantitative determination of phenol red with using HPLC, the permeability marker widely used in gastrointestinal studies, and its stability in various apolar phase solvents were investigated. In addition, the mechanisms of degradation products obtained were tried to be elucidated by using the LCMS-IT-TOF device. The proposed HPLC method utilizes a Perkin Elmer C, 5 μm, 250 mm × 4.

Despite the varied origins, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and inflammatory cytokines are recognized as key contributing factors in both the initiation and maintenance of neuropathic pain. The effects of the mitochondrial-derived peptide humanin on neuropathic pain, however, remain unclear, despite its demonstrated influence on these mechanisms in numerous disease models.

Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of 1,757 patients with maxillofacial fractures who were referred to our department between May 2012 and March 2019. The patients' demographic and clinical characteristics were noted, as well as the fracture type, location, and etiology.
Endometrial cancer (EC) is increasing incidence among women, and it constitutes a health problem for women globally. An important aspect of EC management involves the use of protein biomarkers for early detection and monitoring. Protein biomarkers allow the identification of high-risk patients, the detection of the disease in its early stages, and the assessment of treatment responses.

Objectives: To evaluate the mechanical, surface and optical properties of crown materials produced with 3D printing and computer-aided design (CAD)/computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), which has recently been used frequently in the clinic.
Objectives: Trans-sacral epiduroscopic laser decompression (SELD), employing a video-guided catheter and laser, is one of the preferred options for minimally invasive treatment in lumbar disc disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of SELD treatment on pain, disability, and quality of life in patients with lumbar disc herniation.
Methods: Between January 2015 and June 2017, a total of 76 patients who underwent SELD were examined retrospectively.
Background: The matrix effect is accepted as one of the critical factors that affect trueness, and it is especially important in the analysis of critical compounds, such as drugs, toxins and pesticides, in complex matrices. Ceftiofur (CEF) is a leading drug used in dairy industry for pulmonary infections. Because milk has a complex matrix, which is rich in fats, proteins and many other compounds, the determination of CEF in milk products deals with issues of trueness.

In this work, LCNFs are prepared from non-wood feedstocks, including agricultural residues such as hemp, wheat straw, and flax. These feedstocks allowed for the preparation of LCNFs with a variety of properties, including tailored hydrophobicity.

This retrospective cohort study conducted in Turkey between December 2020 and June 2022 aimed to assess antibiotic use, bacterial co-infections, and the associated factors on mortality in hospitalized patients with mild-to-severe COVID-19. Among the 445 patients, 80% received antibiotics, with fluoroquinolones being the most common choice, followed by beta-lactams and combinations. Various clinical and laboratory parameters, including symptoms, comorbidities, CCI, oxygen requirements, and CRP levels were observed to be elevated in the antibiotic group.

Therefore, functional scaffolds obtained from biomaterials are used for the regeneration of cartilage tissue. Here, we functionalized one of the self-assembling peptide (SAP) scaffolds KLD (KLDLKLDLKLDL) with short bioactive motifs, which are the α1 chain of type II collagen binding peptide WYRGRL (C1) and the triple helical collagen mimetic peptide GFOGER (C2) by direct coupling.

Background: It is still unclear whether the trabecular structure of the jaw is different in individuals with hypodontia than in those without hypodontia; this is important for clinicians. The aim was to determine whether the mandibular trabecular bone structure of children and adolescents with hypodontia differs from the control group by using the fractal analysis (FA) method in this study.
Methods: A total of 138 panoramic radiographs of 69 cases and 69 control subjects (mean age 13.
Background: Despite advancements in percutaneous and surgical revascularization techniques, nearly 20% of patients who undergo myocardial revascularization need repeat revascularization. Recently, identified as a prognostication factor for adverse cardiovascular events, the uric acid/albumin ratio (UAR) serves as a new marker for assessing inflammation and oxidative stress. Our objective was to investigate the association between UAR levels and repeat revascularization in young patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).

During this expansion, genotoxic stressors can be accumulated and negatively affect the mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) of adipose tissue. Due to the oxidative stress generated by these genotoxic stressors, senescence phenotype might be observed in adipose tissue MSCs.

Loss of function mutations in Diaphanous related formin 1 (DIAPH1) are associated with seizures, cortical blindness, and microcephaly syndrome (SCBMS) and are recently linked to combined immunodeficiency. However, the extent of defects in T and innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) remain unexplored. Herein, we characterized the primary T, natural killer (NK) and helper ILCs of six patients carrying two novel loss of function mutation in DIAPH1 and Jurkat cells after DIAPH1 knockdown.
