Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that is characterized by the accumulation of amyloid plaques, phosphorylated tau tangles and microglia toxicity, resulting in neuronal death and cognitive decline. Since microglia are recognized as one of the key players in the disease, it is crucial to understand how microglia operate in disease conditions and incorporate them into models. The studies on human microglia functions are thought to reflect the post-symptomatic stage of the disease.

However, biochar often possesses a negative surface charge that limits its affinity for binding anions. Nitric acid washing and pretreatment with Coriolus versicolor can break down the lignocellulosic structure in cotton stalk waste, facilitating the subsequent impregnation of Mg and Fe metal oxides.

The hemochromatosis gene (C282Y homozygosity)-related hemochromatosis is the most common form of HH. The prevalence of HH is varied.

It explores recent findings in treatment strategies, emphasizing the dynamic interplay between surgery, systemic chemotherapy, and local therapies for synchronous colorectal liver metastases (CRLMs).
Recent Findings: Highlighting the role of advanced imaging, the review underscores the significance of contrast-enhanced MRI in surgical planning for CRLMs.
Background And Purpose:
Delirium is a common complication developing in elderly patients. Therefore, it is important to diagnose delirium earlier. Family caregivers play an active role in early diagnosis of delirium and build a bridge between health professionals and patients.

In this study, we aimed to evaluate biopsy strategies involving prostate-specific antigen density (PSAd) to avoid unnecessary biopsy versus the risk of missing clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) in patients with PI-RADS 3 lesions.
Material And Methods: Data of 616 consecutive patients who underwent PSAd and mpMRI before prostate biopsy between January 2017 and January 2022 at a single center were retrospectively assessed.
Background: Progression to cirrhosis in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is associated with a decrease in liver fat. However, the prognostic significance of liver fat content in NASH-related significant fibrosis and cirrhosis is unclear.
Aim: To investigate the risk of decompensation, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and mortality stratified by liver fat content in NASH-related significant fibrosis and cirrhosis.
Background: There are limited data regarding the longitudinal association between MEFIB-Index (MRE combined with FIB-4) versus MAST-Score (MRI-aspartate aminotransferase) and hepatic decompensation.
Aim: To examine the longitudinal association between MEFIB-Index versus MAST-Score in predicting hepatic decompensation in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).
Methods: This was a longitudinal, retrospective analysis of subjects from United States, Japan, and Turkey who underwent a baseline MRE and MRI-PDFF and were followed for hepatic decompensation.
Background: Data are scarce regarding the development of hepatic decompensation in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) with and without type 2 diabetes. We aimed to assess the risk of hepatic decompensation in people with NAFLD with and without type 2 diabetes.
Methods: We did a meta-analysis of individual participant-level data from six cohorts in the USA, Japan, and Turkey.
Background And Aims: Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is an accurate, continuous biomarker of liver fibrosis; however, the optimal combination with clinical factors to predict the risk of incident hepatic decompensation is unknown. Therefore, we aimed to develop and validate an MRE-based prediction model for hepatic decompensation for patients with NAFLD.
Approach And Results: This international multicenter cohort study included participants with NAFLD undergoing MRE from 6 hospitals.
: Coronary slow flow (CSF) is an angiographic phenomenon characterized by the slow progression of an injected contrast agent during diagnostic coronary angiography in the absence of significant stenosis. Although CSF is a common angiographic finding, the long-term outcomes and mortality rates are still unknown. This study aimed to investigate the underlying causes of mortality over a 10-year period in patients diagnosed with stable angina pectoris (SAP) and CSF.

Cognitive involvement has become more and more remarkable in many neurological and psychiatric diseases. This condition evoked a paradigm shift, and today disorders are addressed from a neuroscientific perspective, including silent symptoms.

The aim of this study is to evaluate people's concept of dementia, their awareness of dementia research and treatment, whether dementia and forgetfulness are considered normal in old age, and whether having dementia is associated with a lack of mental abilities.

In this study, variations of hilar structures, and the effects of variant anatomy on donor and recipient outcomes were evaluated. Living donor liver transplantations in a single center between January 2013 and December 2020 were retrospectively reviewed.

However, the efficacy of AChE-I treatment on electroencephalography (EEG) and cognition remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the EEG power and coherence changes, in addition to neuropsychological performance, following a one-year treatment.

We conducted an individual participant data pooled meta-analysis on patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease to evaluate the association between liver stiffness on MRE and liver-related outcomes.
Methods: A systematic search identified 6 cohorts of adults with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease who underwent a baseline MRE and were followed for hepatic decompensation, hepatocellular carcinoma, and death.
Objective: To compare 2 CoV-SARS-2 ('anti-s') antibody levels after vaccination between residents in long-term geriatric care (LTGC) and residents in assisted-living facilities who had received two doses of the BNT162b2 vaccine. SARS-CoV-2 serology was tested with Quant II IgG CoV-SARS-2. Blood samples were collected 3-4 months after administration of the second vaccine dose.

Objective: To assess the diagnostic and prognostic utility of 6 visual atrophy scales (VAS) and the Magnetic Resonance Parkinsonism Index (MRPI).
Design, Setting, And Participants: In this diagnostic/prognostic study, data from 235 patients with bvFTD and 225 age- and magnetic resonance imaging-matched control individuals from 3 centers were collected from December 1, 1998, to September 30, 2019.
Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) is a common neurobehavioral disorder with a significant and pervasive impact on patients' lives. Identifying neurophysiological correlates of ADHD is important for understanding its underlying mechanisms, as well as for improving clinical accuracy beyond cognitive and emotional factors. While plant cells in suspension are becoming a popular platform for expressing biotherapeutic proteins, the need to pre-engineer these cells to better comply with their role as host cell lines is emerging. Heterologous DNA and selectable markers are used for transformation and genome editing designated to produce improved host cell lines for overexpression of recombinant proteins. The removal of these heterologous DNA and selectable markers, no longer needed, can be beneficial since they limit additional gene stacking in subsequent transformations and may pose excessive metabolic burden on the cell machinery.
