Recent studies using intracellular thermometers have shown that the temperature inside cultured single cells varies heterogeneously on the order of 1°C. However, the reliability of intracellular thermometry has been challenged both experimentally and theoretically because it is, in principle, exceedingly difficult to exclude the effects of nonthermal factors on the thermometers. To accurately measure cellular temperatures from outside of cells, we developed novel thermometry with fluorescent thermometer nanosheets, allowing for noninvasive global temperature mapping of cultured single cells.

Structural modification of a 1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one-based PTHR1 antagonist 5, a novel type of PTHR1 antagonist previously synthesized in our laboratories, yielded compound 10, which had better chemical stability than compound 5. Successive optimization of the lead 10 improved aqueous solubility, metabolic stability, and animal pharmacokinetics, culminating in the identification of DS37571084 (12). Our study paves the way for the discovery of novel and orally bioavailable PTHR1 antagonists.

The cyanobacterial circadian oscillator can be reconstituted by mixing the purified clock proteins KaiA, KaiB, and KaiC with ATP in vitro, leading to a 24-h oscillation of KaiC phosphorylation. The cyanobacterial mutant pr1 carrying valine instead of alanine at position 422 of KaiC (KaiC-A422V) lost the ability to shift the phase of the circadian rhythm. In our previous study, we performed genome-wide association study (GWAS) to identify the genomic region associated with Fat area ratio to rib eye area (FAR) and detected a candidate in BTA7 at 10-30 Mbp. The present study aims to comprehensively detect all polymorphisms in the candidate region using whole-genome resequencing data. The study of the strength and behavior of the antikaon-nucleon (K[over ¯]N) interaction constitutes one of the key focuses of the strangeness sector in low-energy quantum chromodynamics (QCD). In this Letter a unique high-precision measurement of the strong interaction between kaons and protons, close and above the kinematic threshold, is presented. The femtoscopic measurements of the correlation function at low pair-frame relative momentum of (K^{+}p⊕K^{-}p[over ¯]) and (K^{-}p⊕K^{+}p[over ¯]) pairs measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=5, 7, and 13 TeV are reported.

Catechinopyranocyanidins A and B (cpcA and cpcB) are two purple pigments present in the seed-coat of red adzuki bean, Vigna angularis, of which cpcA is the major pigment, containing two chiral carbons in the catechin part. Their absolute configurations were determined by comparison of their experimental and quantum chemical calculated electronic circular dichroisms (ECDs). These purple pigments are labile on light irradiation and easily decompose to photo-degraded catechinopyranocyanidins A and B (pdcpcA and pdcpcB), while retaining the stereostructure of the catechin residue.
