A tacit understanding of the influence of healthy eating on chronic disease risk and quality of life among older adults is essential for successful design and roll-out of healthy ageing policies. Existing research on dietary determinants among older adults is largely outdated owing to the changing geopolitical scenarios including advancements in health and technology and global migration. Studies published between 2000 and 2020 that explored determinants of diet in older adults were identified using five databases, following Preferred Reporting of Systematic review and Meta-Analyses extended for Scoping Review (PRISMA ScR) guidelines.

Another antimalarial drug, mefloquine, which is not a 4-aminoquinoline like CQ/HCQ, has emerged as a potential anti-SARS-CoV-2 antiviral in vitro and has also been previously repurposed for respiratory diseases.

This pilot study aimed to evaluate the acceptability and feasibility of integrating a mobile health intervention into primary care to support patients with improving lifestyle behaviours for high blood pressure.

Methods: Thirty-one patients aged 40-70 years were recruited by seven general practitioners to trial a 6-month mobile health intervention that included videos, web-based education and text message reminders.

Improving Diagnosis and Prognosis in Acute Severe Brain Injury: A Multimodal Imaging Protocol.

Multi-modal neuroimaging techniques have the potential to dramatically improve the diagnosis of the level consciousness and prognostication of neurological outcome for patients with severe brain injury in the intensive care unit (ICU). This protocol describes a study that will utilize functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG), and functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) to measure and map the brain activity of acute critically ill patients. Our goal is to investigate whether these modalities can provide objective and quantifiable indicators of good neurological outcome and reliably detect conscious awareness.

Bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is associated with increased rates of survival to hospital discharge following OHCA, prompting the introduction of several initiatives by the UK government to increase rates of bystander CPR, including the inclusion of Basic Life Support (BLS) teaching within the English national curriculum. While there is clear benefit in this, increasing evidence suggests poor retention of skills following BLS teaching.

Plant parasitic nematode (PPN) control has historically relied on the use of synthetic chemical nematicides, however many are toxic to both human health and the environment. Long-acting antiretroviral drugs have emerged as exciting treatment and preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) options for people with HIV and at risk of HIV. Long-acting regimens may improve dosing convenience, tolerability and cost compared with current daily-based oral therapy. They can also circumvent stigma associated with oral therapy for both treatment and PrEP, thereby improving adherence and outcomes.

A photo-elicitation exploration of UK mothers' experiences of extended breastfeeding.

In this qualitative study we explored the experiences of women breastfeeding children over 12 months of age. Data were collected from 24 participants using semi-structured photo-elicitation interviews and photo-prompted online surveys. Participants took photographs of their extended breastfeeding experiences over one week and reflected on how the events depicted made them feel, and what they represented in terms of their experience.
