The paper analyzes and sums up technically originated infrasound (IS) hygienic problems. Trends for an increase in its role as an unfavourable factor of the industrial, transport, and residential environments are established. Comprehensive physiological, hygienic, and experimental studies revealed the pathogenetic features of IS.

Article covers approaches to evaluation and forecasting of occupational risk for workers exposed to occupational hazards, formulates a concept to evaluate occupational disease according to risk and severity categories, gives an integral parameter for qualitative and quantitative analysis of group risk for one occupational disease or their combination. Trials proved acceptability of the method for group risk evaluation according to WHO concept concerning occupational diseases.

All results can serve as a base for application of information technology to industrial medicine and determine tactics of hygienic and clinical monitoring. Occupational risk was suggested to be evaluated approximately and rapidly by means of length of exposure as an integral parameter.

Basing on the original data and medical literature information, the contributors provided formulae and charts for the assessment of vibration disease, risks caused by noise, cold microclimate, physical overload, and cigarette smoking as an individual factor. A concept was proposed with regard to the risk-free dosage.

The results proved to be indispensable for the substantiation and elaboration of preventive measures.
