In this research paper, we investigate the problem of remote state estimation for nonlinear discrete systems. Specifically, we focus on scenarios where event-triggered sensor schedules are utilized and where packet drops occur between the sensor and the estimator. In the sensor scheduler, the SOD mechanism is proposed to decrease the amount of data transmitted from the sensor to a remote estimator and the phenomena of packet drops modeled with random variables obeying the Bernoulli distribution.

To well manage the quality of the injected electrical power into the grid from a variable speed wind turbine (VSWT), direct power control (DPC) scheme using second order sliding mode control (SOSMC) based on super-twisting algorithm (STA) approach is proposed. Meanwhile, for reaching the adequate gains of STA, an appropriate optimizer should be implemented. Therefore, shuffled complex evolution (SCE) algorithm-based parameter identification is suggested.

In order to extract efficient power generation, a wind turbine (WT) system requires an accurate maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique. Therefore, a novel robust variable-step perturb-and-observe (RVS-P&O) algorithm was developed for the machine-side converter (MSC). The control strategy was applied on a WT based permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) to overcome the downsides of the currently published P&O MPPT methods.
