- Strontium ranelate (StR) was studied for its effects on fracture healing in a rabbit model, where 40 rabbits were divided into treated and control groups after undergoing ulna osteotomy.
- The treated group received 600 mg/kg/day of StR and showed significant improvements in healing indicators, such as larger callus diameter and higher vascularization at 2 weeks.
- By 4 weeks, the treatment group not only had enhanced biomechanical strength but also confirmed radiological bone union, suggesting that StR may effectively promote fracture healing, although more research is needed to understand the underlying mechanisms.

Arthroscopically assisted anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction is regarded as a minimally invasive surgery with low morbidity but complications still occur. Reports of neurovascular injuries related to graft harvesting, tunnel placement, or graft fixation are limited. A rare case of peroneal nerve injury related to hardware used for graft fixation in the tibial in a 28-year-old female patient who underwent an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery using a patellar tendon graft (bone-tendon-bone graft) is presented.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThis article reviews three of the most popular upper limb flaps used in hand surgery, namely the posterior interosseous flap, the lateral arm flap and the radial forearm flap. An anatomic study performed with the use of eight fresh cadavers (sixteen upper limbs) is supported by a wide review of the literature. The combined posterior interosseous and lateral arm flap is also discussed.
