Purpose: This study aimed to assess (1) the prognostic value of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and (2) the ability of ctDNA to detect recurrence compared with standard surveillance in curatively resected early-stage biliary tract cancer (BTC).

Methods: This retrospective, multicenter cohort study evaluated serial ctDNA testing for surveillance in patients with early-stage BTC after curative resection. We evaluated the relapse-free survival (RFS) by ctDNA positivity.

Background: Because gynecomastia is one of the most considerable aesthetic procedures for men, we are researching in our article recent management methods for high grades of gynecomastia.

Methods: This prospective study included 45 individuals with gynecomastia, divided into 3 groups: group A (15 individuals) managed by traditional liposuction, group B (15 individuals) managed by vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance (VASER)-assisted lipoplasty, and group C (15 individuals) managed by VASER and J-plasma. Authors used a skin fold caliper for measurement of subareolar disk size and a Cutometer for assessment of skin pliability and firmness.

This study advances a methodology to estimate effective apertures of fractures in glacial tills based on dye tracer infiltration tests and numerical simulations. The approach uses the visible penetration depth of the dye tracer along fracture flow paths as primary information to calculate effective fracture apertures. Further data used in the calculation are the dye tracer input concentration and retardation, the duration of the tracer injection, and the hydraulic gradient applied to control the infiltrating water fluxes.

Chylorrhea, a chylous (white viscid) discharge from the external urethral penile opening, is unrelated to urination and is a rare presentation of lymphangioma circumscriptum in the penis that can significantly impair a patient's quality of life and psychological well-being. Herein, we present a case of recurrent chylorrhea that was detected using diagnostic tools and treated using the deep external pudendal artery perforator flap in the inner thigh, which is extremely rich in lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes.

Composite defects in the middle third of the face have devastating effects on a patient's life and social impacts. Several techniques have been described for the restoration of facial defects. The dynamic reconstruction of such defects mainly comprises a complex two-stage procedure and/or microsurgery, functional muscle transfer for restoration of facial animation, and filling the defects.

Background: Hemifacial atrophy (Romberg disease) is characterized by progressive soft tissue and bone atrophy on 1 side of the face. The process of atrophy usually starts in the late first or early second decade of life. Romberg Patients usually require soft tissue augmentation for the correction of their defect.

In this article, the authors present the versatility of the Latissmus dorsi muscle as a donor option in facial reanimation and compare between different approaches in harvesting this muscle. The study included 24 Latissimus Dorsi (LD) functional muscles were transferred for smile reanimation of complete facial palsy. The patients were classified into 2 groups in which the muscle either harvested with supine or lateral (trans-axillary) approach.

Background:  Lower limb reconstruction is a well-recognized challenge to the trauma or plastic surgeon. Although techniques and outcomes in the adult population are well documented, they are less so in the pediatric population. Here, we present our experience in the management of posttraumatic foot and ankle defects with free tissue transfer in children.

Background: Management of facial skin cancer and its complications is important research topics needing continuous update to improve the outcome.

Objective: The study is to share our findings with surgeons and healthcare providers. The authors provide their efforts by pooling data from multiple institutions; as reporting surgical outcomes is significantly lacking and much needed in the Middle East and North Africa region in order to meaningfully improve quality of care.

This study was undertaken to investigate the role of primary substrate composition and concentration on the attenuation of biodegradable emerging trace organic chemicals (TOrCs) in simulated managed aquifer recharge (MAR) systems. Four sets of soil columns were established in the laboratory, each receiving synthetic feed solutions comprising different ratios and concentrations of peptone-yeast and humic acid as the primary substrate to investigate the effect on removal of six TOrCs (atenolol, caffeine, diclofenac, gemfibrozil, primidone, and trimethoprim). Based on abiotic control experiments, adsorption was not identified as a significant attenuation mechanism for primidone, gemfibrozil and diclofenac.

This study investigates the evolution of the microbial community in laboratory-scale soil columns simulating the infiltration zone of managed aquifer recharge (MAR) systems and analogous natural aquifer sediment ecosystems. Parallel systems were supplemented with either moderate (1.1 mg/L) or low (0.

This study examined the possible hepatoprotective effect of aminoguanidine in comparison with silymarin and investigated the possible beneficial effects of the combination of aminoguanidine and silymarin on CCL4-induced liver fibrosis. Male Wister albino rats were randomly divided into five groups (10 rats/group). Group I included control rats injected only with liquid paraffin and saline; group II represents CCL(4) control (injected with CCL(4) 3 times a week for 6 weeks in a dose of 25μl/100gm.

Introduction: Bleeding due to oesophageal varices is the commonest cause of upper gastrointestinal tract haemorrhage in Sudan. Endoscopic injection sclerotherapy (EST) is a valuable therapeutic modality for the management of variceal bleeding. Other options for treatment such as variceal banding are either expensive or unavailable.

Objective: Poverty, pressing priorities and tropical diseases prevailed added to the factors that delay the implementation of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (LC). The objective of this study was to assess the feasibility and safety of LC in this country (Sudan).

Subjects And Methods: From June 1995-May 1999, we enrolled 288 patients presented with symptomatic gallstone disease without pre-selection criteria.

A study was carried out on 366 female patients admitted consecutively to Asir Central Hospital with clinical diagnosis of acute appendicitis during the period between 1988 through 1991. In this study, 271 patients had histopathologically proven appendicitis for a diagnostic accuracy of 74%. Ninety-five (26%) patients did not have appendicitis, however, 27 (7.
