Background: Previous observational studies have shown that Hypothyroidism is associated with Von Willebrand Disease (VWD), but the causal relationship has not been confirmed because of conflicting findings and confounding by mixing factors. There are also some studies suggesting that polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) may be one of the potential mediators. In this study, we used a Mendelian randomization study to analyze the causal relationship between Hypothyroidism and VWD and to investigate whether polyunsaturated fatty acids mediate the effects of Hypothyroidism on VWD.

Objective: To investigate the protective effect and mechanism of tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6) inhibitor C25-140 on acute kidney injury (AKI) induced by acute diquat (DQ) poisoning in mice.
Methods: A total of 80 SPF grade healthy male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into the normal control group, DQ model group, C25-140 intervention group, and C25-140 control group, with 20 mice in each group. The DQ poisoning mouse model was established by using one-time intraperitoneal injection of 1 mL of 40 mg/kg DQ solution.
Introduction: Sarcopenia, with its complex diagnostic process, is a likely independent predictor of poor prognosis in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, research on the clinical characteristics and biomarkers of AD patients with sarcopenia (ADSA) is limited.
Methods: This study included 180 ADSA and 188 AD patients without sarcopenia (ADNSA), and evaluated demographics, cognitive function, motor capacity, emotional state, and daily living abilities.
Bone tissue is a biological composite material with a complex hierarchical structure that could continuously adjust its internal structure to adapt to the alterations in the external load environment. The fluid flow within bone is the main route of osteocyte metabolism, and the pore pressure as well as the fluid shear stress generated by it are important mechanical stimuli perceived by osteocytes. Owing to the irregular multiscale structure of bone tissue, the fluid stimulation that lacunar-canalicular network (LCN) in different regions of the tissue underwent remained unclear.

Previous reports have also shown that acute-phase thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) plasma could induce the activation of monocytes. However, the significance of peripheral blood absolute monocyte count (AMC) in idiopathic TTP remains an unanswered question.

However, their progress has been hindered by insufficient bonding performance and weak solvent resistance, as well as the laborious synthesis processes involved. Herein, we successfully synthesized a high-performance lignin-based non-isocyanate adhesives (LNIPUs-G) through a one-pot strategy that combines the polycondensation of carbonate groups with polyether amines and aldehyde-amine chemistry.

Recent studies have demonstrated the therapeutic potential of mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs) to psoriasis because of their immunomodulation functions. Yet, the outcome of MSC-EVs alone is still unsatisfactory and the underlying mechanisms are also unclear.

A population belonging to the C. intermedius group was recently found in an isolated limestone karst block in Kampot Province in southwestern Cambodia, part of which lies within the recently designated Phnom Preah Kuhear Loung Natural Heritage Site.

Risk stratification is primarily based on tumor grade, histological type, lymph node metastasis, and depth of myometrial invasion.

However, their exact impact remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the inhibition, mechanisms, structure-activity relationships (SAR) of parabens on human placental 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (h3β-HSD1) and its rat counterpart, r3β-HSD4.

Microplastics (MPs) are increasingly recognized as contaminants present in various environments and are widely acknowledged as potential hazards to the mammalian immune system. In our study of chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy, we observed the presence of MP in CAR-T cell products for the first time. It is worth exploring whether MP could enter CAR-T cells and how they might affect CAR-T cells' functionality.

Herein, natural wood veneer is converted into a transparent wood film (TWF) substrate. The combination of 3D printing and origami technique is established to create programmable wood-based origami electronics, which exhibit superior flexibility with high tensile strength (393 MPa) due to the highly aligned cellulose fibers and the formation of numerous intermolecular hydrogen bonds between them.

In this study, double-crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol/starch bioplastics (named PDA) were fabricated using PVA, dialdehyde starch (DAS), and phytic acid (PA), resulting in a material with superior water resistance, flame retardancy, and excellent degradability. PA not only plays the role of catalyst for the chemical crosslinking but also as the physical crosslinker to form the intermolecular hydrogen bonds with PVA and DAS.

Otherwise, no studies have explored the diagnostic value of serum cytokines in MSA.
Methods: Serum cytokines, including interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8), and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), were measured in 125 MSA patients and 98 healthy controls (HCs).

Observational studies have established that obesity is associated with nutritional deficiencies, but the exact causality remains uncertain. Thus, this Mendelian randomization (MR) study aimed to identify the causal associations between obesity and circulating levels of nutrients. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms associated with obesity (body mass index and waist-hip ratio), were extracted from a genome-wide association study of 694,649 European ancestry.

The study aims to uncover the patterns of brain function in the initial phase of the two conditions.
Methods: We recruited 24 MSA-P patients, 34 PD patients and 27 healthy controls (HC).
Recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) is a commonly used in vivo gene therapy vector because of its nonpathogenicity, long-term transgene expression, broad tropism, and ability to transduce both dividing and nondividing cells. However, rAAV vector production via transient transfection of mammalian cells typically yields a low fraction of filled-to-total capsids (~1%-30% of total capsids produced). Analysis of our previously developed mechanistic model for rAAV2/5 production attributed these low fill fractions to a poorly coordinated timeline between capsid synthesis and viral DNA replication and the repression of later phase capsid formation by Rep proteins.

Rationale: Kawasaki disease (KD) manifests as an acute, self-limited vasculitis disease that constitutes the primary cause of acquired heart disease in children under 5 years of age. Facial nerve palsy (FNP) is a rare complication associated with coronary artery lesions (CALs) in patients with KD. Patients with KD and FNP usually present atypically, leading to a delayed diagnosis and treatment of KD.

Limited information is available regarding the clinical management and prognosis of these combined diseases.

Three-dimensional (3D) phenotyping is important for studying plant structure and function. Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) has gained prominence in 3D plant phenotyping due to its ability to collect 3D point clouds. However, organ-level branch detection remains challenging due to small targets, sparse points, and low signal-to-noise ratios.
