Multidisciplinary Management of Palpebral Melanoma.

Ocular melanoma encompasses the uveal tract, conjunctiva, eyelid, and orbit. Palpebral localization is extremely infrequent, constituting less than 1% of skin melanomas, the main treatment of which is surgical. However, the radicality of the resection is restricted by anatomical location and functional sequelae.

Outcomes and Current State of Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator Flap Surgery in Peru and Mexico.

Background: In developing countries, breast reconstruction has multiple barriers, especially related to microsurgical procedures. Our aim was to describe the characteristics and outcomes of patients who underwent deep inferior epigastric artery perforator (DIEP) flap in 2 Latin American countries (Peru and Mexico) performed by recent postgraduate microsurgery fellows.

Methods: A retrospective study of a case series of breast cancer patients who underwent DIEP flap surgery in 5 surgery centers in 2 different countries, Peru and Mexico, was conducted.

Safety and Outcomes in Multiplane Facial Rejuvenation with Tranexamic Acid: A Cohort Study.

Background: Tranexamic acid (TXA) has demonstrated promising outcomes in plastic surgery. Our aim was to assess the effect of TXA in intraoperative bleeding, operative time, and complications among patients undergoing facial surgical procedures.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study of patients who underwent multiplane facial rhytidectomy from January 2018 to September 2022 at the Clinica Ziegler, Lima, Peru.

Prepectoral and Retropectoral Breast-implant-Associated Anaplastic Large-cell Lymphoma.

Breast-implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is a non-Hodgkin lymphoma that arises in the space between the surface of a breast implant and the fibrous capsule that grows around the implant. Since its first description 20 years ago, almost 1000 cases of BIA-ALCL have been diagnosed worldwide. Nowadays, guidelines describe the diagnosis, staging, and treatment of this disease.
