Articular cartilage phenotypic homeostasis is crucial for life-long joint function, but the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms governing chondrocyte stability remain poorly understood. Here, we show that the protein tyrosine phosphatase SHP2 is differentially expressed in articular cartilage (AC) and growth plate cartilage (GPC) and that it negatively regulates cell proliferation and cartilage phenotypic program. Postnatal SHP2 deletion in Prg4 AC chondrocytes increased articular cellularity and thickness, whereas SHP2 deletion in Acan pan-chondrocytes caused excessive GPC chondrocyte proliferation and led to joint malformation post-puberty.

Coconut oil, a low-molecular-weight vegetable oil, is virtually unutilized as a polyol material for flexible polyurethane foam (FPUF) production due to the high-molecular-weight polyol requirement of FPUFs. The saturated chemistry of coconut oil also limits its compatibility with widely used polyol-forming processes, which mostly rely on the unsaturation of vegetable oil for functionalization. Camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia) is a tropical fruit known for its content of bioactive compounds. This study aimed to evaluate physicochemically, morphologically, andsensorialpowders from camu-camu obtained by spray-drying at two inlet temperatures (150 °C and 180 °C) with three encapsulating agents (maltodextrin, whey protein and a 50:50 mixture of both) and by freeze-drying of whole fruit. We reported mono and bimetallic ferrocene-based 1,2,3-triazolyl compounds as potential burning rate catalysts in their neutral and ionic forms. All complexes reported here were characterized using H and C NMR, elemental analysis, and Mössbauer spectroscopy, which was performed for neutral and oxide compounds. In the context of improved access to diagnostic resources and expanding clinical networks in the Australasian region, we report the first 3 cases of culture-confirmed melioidosis in Timor-Leste.
