Expansion of Information in the Binary Autoencoder With Random Binary Weights.

This letter studies the expansion and preservation of information in a binary autoencoder where the hidden layer is larger than the input. Such expansion is widespread in biological neural networks, as in the olfactory system of a fruit fly or the projection of thalamic inputs to the neocortex. We analyze the threshold model, the kWTA model, and the binary matching pursuit model to find how the sparsity and the dimension of the encoding influence the input reconstruction, similarity preservation, and mutual information across layers.

Feasibility of coronary CT angiography for guidance of CABG.

There was the technique elaborated for the revascularized transplantation of the omentum majus flap on myocardium, upper extremity and brain. There were performed 26 operations of nondirect revascularization of myocardium, 3--of microsurgical transplantation on upper extremity and 3--on the brain.

[The use of greater omentum in revascularization of ischemia-affected organs].

Anatomo--morphological peculiarities of greater omentum (GO) in 63 patients, in whom its flap was applied for revascularization of ischemized tissues of extremities, myocardium and the brain, were studied up. Microsurgical transplantation of the GO free flap was performed in 41 patient, omentocardiopexy without the break of the GO vascular pedicle--in 22. Possibilities of the GO application for the ischemized organs revascularization were estimated.

[A method choice in the myocardial revascularization in the ischemic heart disease on the basis of clinico-angiographic data on patients].

[The preoperative drug correction of disorders in myocardial functional reserve in patients with ischemic heart disease].

The optimally adjusted doses of phinoptin, cordarone and cordypin were applied as the preoperative preparation complex in 30 ischemic heart disease patients with the stress angina pectoris of the II-IV functional class. It promoted the total blood peripheral resistance decrease, pre- and postload lowering, the contractile myocardial function increase, the pain syndrome abolition, and permitted to prepare the patients effectively for the aortocoronary shunting operation.

[Effect of acute stress on glucose resorption by an isolated loop of the small intestine].

In the experiments on rats acute stress is found to accelerate glucose resorption by isolated loop of small intestine in situ and it probably depends on increased level of corticosteroids. Glucose resorption changes in small intestine is of adaptable character during stress.
