Impact of site, size and severity of ischemic cerebrovascular stroke on sleep in a sample of Egyptian patients a polysomnographic study.

Background: Sleep difficulties following a cerebrovascular stroke are an interesting topic in the scientific community. Following a brain ischemic insult, a variety of sleep problems can occur.

Aim Of Work: To study the sleep architecture following stroke and to identify the impact of site, size and severity of ischemic cerebrovascular troke on sleep microstructure.

Rapid eye movement (REM) sleep microarchitecture is altered in patients with wake-up ischemic stroke: A polysomnographic study.

Unlabelled: It is well established that certain alteration of sleep disorders occur in patients with wake-up stroke (WUS) such as sleep disordered breathing, periodic limb movements and sleep duration. However, the data are lacking about the microarchitecture of different sleep stages among those patients.

Aim Of Work: To compare the polysomnographic microarchitecture of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep between WUS and daytime stroke (DTS).

Late acute antibody mediated rejection after nine years of renal transplantation.

Acute antibody mediated rejection (AMR) is rarely reported as a long-term com-plication of renal transplantation, and it can present on top of another chronic pathology affecting the graft. A 45-year-old gentleman with chronic kidney disease due to unknown etiology received renal transplantation from his sister with 4 HLA mismatches. He received antithymocte globulin induction therapy and was maintained on steroids, azathioprine (AZA) and cyclosporine A (CsA).

Toxic tacrolimus blood levels with rifampin administration in a renal transplant recipient.

Background: Induction of the hepatic and intestinal cytochrome P450-3A4 system and intestinal P-glycoprotein is an unavoidable consequence of rifampin administration which requires substantial increase in tacrolimus dose when given concurrently. Chronic diarrhea is known to precipitate tacrolimus toxicity irrespective of its cause in renal transplant recipients.

Case Report: A 28 years old lady had a second renal transplant when she was 15 years old which is functioning normally.
