Objectives: This study aimed to identify predictors of sepsis in earthquake survivors who underwent either amputation or fasciotomy and to compare these two patient groups across many clinical outcomes, including sepsis.
Patients And Methods: In this retrospective study, a total of 1,608 patients who presented to our hospital following the February 6, 2023, Kahramanmaraş earthquakes were evaluated between February 2023 and March 2023. Of these, 138 patients (65 males, 73 females; median age: 35 years; range, 18 to 74 years) who underwent either fasciotomy or amputation were included in the study.
Introduction: Cognitive impairment is common among patients with hemodialysis. Hemodialysis patients have theoretical risks for both deficiency and accumulation of trace elements. Study Design: The research was designed as a prospective randomized controlled study. In total, 66 women were included in the study, with 31 in the control group and 35 in the intervention group.
Objective: Systemic inflammatory biomarkers recently studied in schizophrenia include neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte/lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR), systemic immune inflammation index (SII), and systemic inflammation response index (SIRI). SIRI, a novel inflammatory marker, has not been studied in different stages of schizophrenia. We aimed to compare NLR, MLR, PLR, SII, and SIRI values between psychotic exacerbation and remission values of the same patients with schizophrenia and a healthy control group.

Materials And Methods: This research was carried out in the Samsun University. Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation from December 2021 to May 2022.
Background: Evidence shows that women feel valued and satisfied after discussing their birth experiences. However, uncertainties persist surrounding the concept of postnatal debriefing practice.
Aim: To explore the opinions and expectations of women relating to postnatal debriefing and their experiences when the postnatal debriefing is not presented.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of virtual reality used during burn dressing in children on the satisfaction and anxiety levels of their parents.
Methods: The study, which was designed as a prospective randomized controlled trial, was carried out with the parents of children aged 5-10 years who visited the only burns unit of a hospital in the northern region of Turkiye between 5 July 2021 and 1 April 2022 for dressing. There were a total of 52 participants in the study, 26 in the control and 26 in the intervention group.
The present study aimed to evaluate the reasons behind the fact that some individuals did not contract coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), considering certain socio-demographic data. The present cross-sectional study was conducted at a state hospital between February 1, 2022 and March 1, 2022. The study group consisted of individuals who never had COVID-19, and the control group consisted of individuals who did not know at the time of the study whether they had COVID-19.

Patients And Methods: Between September 2019 and September 2021, a total of 80 patients treated for tibial fractures were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into two equal groups including 40 patients in each group.
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are quickly becoming efficient solar cells due to the effective physicochemical properties of the absorber layer. This layer should ideally be placed between a stable hole transport material (HTM) layer and a conductive electron transport material (ETM) layer. These outer layers play a critical role in the current densities and cell voltages of solar cells.

Although an increasing number of bat-associated, potentially human pathogenic viruses were discovered in the past, the full picture of the bat viromes is not explored yet. In this study, the virome composition of Miniopterus phillipsi bats (formerly known as Miniopterus fuliginosus bats in Sri Lanka) inhabiting the Wavul Galge cave, Sri Lanka, was analyzed.

Background: Percutaneous cholecystostomy is an alternative or bridge to cholecystectomy (CCY) in high-risk patients with acute calculous cholecystitis. Our primary aim was to determine the parameters that could be used in interval CCY decision-making and to predict mortality in high-risk patients.
Methods: The medical records of 127 patients who underwent percutaneous cholecystostomy for acute calculous cholecystitis between 2010 and 2018 were retrospectively analyzed.
Accurate assessment of cell stiffness distribution is essential due to the critical role of cell mechanobiology in regulation of vital cellular processes like proliferation, adhesion, migration, and motility. Stiffness provides critical information in understanding onset and progress of various diseases, including metastasis and differentiation of cancer. Atomic force microscopy and optical trapping set the gold standard in stiffness measurements.
