Objective: Childhood sexual abuse is the leading cause of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in women, and is a prominent cause of morbidity and loss of function for which limited treatments are available. Understanding the neurobiology of treatment response is important for developing new treatments. The purpose of this study was to assess neural correlates of personalized traumatic memories in women with childhood sexual abuse with and without PTSD, and to assess response to treatment.

Preoperative risk factors for intra-operative bleeding in pediatric liver transplantation.

This study analyzes the preoperative risk factors for intra-operative bleeding in our recent series of pediatric LTs. Between November 2009 and November 2014, 84 consecutive isolated pediatric LTs were performed in 81 children. Potential preoperative predictive factors for bleeding, amount of intra-operative transfusions, postoperative course, and outcome were recorded.

Critical incidents in a French department of paediatric anaesthesia.

Background: Several studies have highlighted the importance of critical incident (CI) reporting in order to enhance patient safety. We have implemented an anonymous procedure for CI reporting in our department of paediatric anaesthesia. This study aims at analysing those CIs so as to improve patient care and risk management.

[Effect of posture on spinal cord stimulation in patients with chronic pain syndromes: analysis of energy requirements in different patient postures].

Background And Objective: Patients being treated with spinal cord stimulation for chronic pain complain of variable paresthesias, particularly in relation to changes in posture. Such changes affect the great majority of patients with implantable pulse generators, requiring them to use the external programmer for avoidance of painful paresthesias or even to disconnect the generator, leading to loss of pain relief. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the pulse charge needed for stimulation and the patient's different postures.

Trans-facet-joint approach to pulsed radiofrequency ablation of the L5 dorsal root ganglion in a patient with degenerative spondylosis and scoliosis.

Mechanical low back pain secondary to degenerative facet joint changes is a common reason for referral to pain clinics. When these changes cause encroachment into the intervertebral foramen, radicular pain may result. While pulsed radiofrequency of the dorsal root ganglion can be used in this setting, the anatomic deformity may make the transforaminal approach difficult.

Effect of beta adrenoreceptor blocking drugs on the responses of isolated rat mesenteric arteries.
