Background And Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the perioperative complications and short-term outcomes of patients who underwent sacrocolpopexy using a self-adhesive mesh.
Materials And Methods: This is a prospective, monocentric study conducted between October 2019 and December 2020. We included 20 consecutive patients on whom sacrocolpopexy using the Parietex ProGripTM Self-Fixating Mesh (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN, USA) was performed.
Spreading depolarizations (SDs) occur spontaneously in the cerebral cortex of subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke or traumatic brain injury patients. Accumulating evidence prove that SDs exacerbate focal ischemic injury by converting zones of the viable but non-functional ischemic penumbra to the core region beyond rescue. Yet the SD-related mechanisms to mediate neurodegeneration remain poorly understood.

Methods: This retrospective, multi-centric study was conducted in three Romanian academic urology departments, and comprised data of patients with infected hydronephrosis treated between July 2013 and July 2014. Based on per-patient hospitalisation costs, the participants were divided into three groups: group A: cost less than 500 euros), group B: between 500 and 1,000 euros, and group C: over 1,000 euros).
Introduction: In the last decade, an increasing number of polymorphisms in DNA repair genes have been identified and their involvement in carcinogenesis was studied. Despite the fact that XRCC3 and XPD DNA repair genes association with several types of cancer was widely studied, their role in the development of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC) has not been established in the European population.
Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the association of XRCC3 Thr241Met and XPD Lys751Gln gene polymorphisms with the risk of CCRCC and the association between these genotypes and CCRCC histopathological prognostic factors (pathologic stage, Fuhrman grade, tumor diameter).
Purpose: To evaluate the effects of newer sublingual desmopressin administration in lithiasic renal colic, alone or combined with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
Methods: Prospective single-blind study including an initial number of 249 patients with lithiasic renal colic was randomized as follows: group NSAID (71 patients) received ketorolac tromethamine (ketorolac) 30 mg im and sublingual placebo (vitamin C), groups D1 and D2 (57 and 62 patients) received sublingual desmopressin (Minirin Melt), 60 and 120 μg, respectively, whereas group C (59 patients) received a combination of 30 mg im ketorolac and 60 μg sublingual desmopressin. Pain intensity was assessed using the visual analogue scale before and thirty minutes after drug administration.
Purpose: The main objective of this study was to compare the effect of two anaesthetic techniques (general vs combined) on plasma levels of NGAL (Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin) after robotic urogenital oncosurgery. The secondary objective was to correlate NGAL levels with the incidence of acute kidney injury (AKI).
Methods: This was a longitudinal prospective study.
The aim of this study is to compare two major urological procedures in terms of patient exposure to radiation. We evaluated 175 patients, that were subjected to retrograde ureteroscopy (URS) and extracorporeal shock waves lithotripsy (ESWL) for lumbar or pelvic ureteral lithiasis, at two urological departments. The C-arm Siemens (produced in 2010 by Siemens AG, Germany) was used for ureteroscopy.

The aim or our study is to present five illustrative cases of MPC, diagnosed among the 21 patients with UC treated by radical cystectomy in the Department of Urology, County Hospital of Tirgu Mures, Romania, between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2013. The morphological and immunohistochemical features of this rare and aggressive variant of UC, as well as a brief review of the literature are all presented.

Fever is considered the main indicator of such postoperative complications and we aimed to study its incidence in patients with and without preoperative antibiotic prophylaxis.
Methods: We included all patients who underwent retrograde ureteroscopy for ureteric stones in the Iaşi and Tg Mureş Urology Clinics from 2009 to 2012.
