Purpose: To evaluate the postoperative outcomes of cataract surgery and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation on visual outcomes and complications in pediatric patients with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis-Associated Uveitis.
Methods: This study included 25 patients (30 eyes) with uveitis and cataracts who underwent cataract surgery. The study was conducted as a retrospective study.
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes and quality of life of newly generated monofocal intraocular lens (IOL) in patients diagnosed with idiopathic epiretinal membrane (IEM) following phacovitrectomy.
Methods: In this prospective study, 42 patients with IEM and cataract underwent pars plana vitrectomy. They were divided into the ICB00 group (21 patients) and the ZCB00 group (21 patients).
In machine learning, data often comes from different sources, but combining them can introduce extraneous variation that affects both generalization and interpretability. For example, we investigate the classification of neurodegenerative diseases using FDG-PET data collected from multiple neuroimaging centers. However, data collected at different centers introduces unwanted variation due to differences in scanners, scanning protocols, and processing methods.

We investigated the genetic diversity and prevalence of transmitted drug resistance (TDR) followed by phylogenetic analysis in 270 HIV-1 infected, treatment-naïve individuals from Croatia in the period 2019-2022. The results of this research confirmed a high overall prevalence of TDR of 16.

This study aimed to evaluate preoperative conditions and postoperative outcomes following cataract surgery in uveitis patients. : A retrospective study was conducted at the University Hospital Center Rebro Zagreb, Croatia, involving uveitis patients who underwent cataract surgery between 2013 and 2022.

Methods: We prospectively enrolled 50 patients diagnosed with IEM who underwent pars plana vitrectomy. Patients were consecutively assigned to either the air tamponade (air) group (25 patients) or the balanced salt solution (BSS) tamponade group (25 patients).

Objectives: Approximately 90% of "XX males" are positive for . However, there are isolated cases of sex reversal associated to other genes in male-determining pathway.
Case Presentation: We describe a 1.
Objectives: To analyze phylogenetic relations and assess the role of cross-border clusters in the spread of HIV-1 subtype B across the Balkans, given the general trends of new HIV diagnoses in seven Balkan countries.
Design: Retrospective phylogenetic and trend analysis.
Methods: In-depth phylogenetic, phylodynamic and phylogeographic analysis performed on 2415 HIV-1 subtype B sequences from 1999 to 2019 using maximal likelihood and Bayesian methods.
Alport syndrome (AS) and thin basement membrane nephropathy (TBMN) are part of the spectrum of kidney disorders caused by pathogenic variants in α3, α4, or α5 chains of the collagen type IV, the major structural component of the glomerular basement membrane (GBM). Using targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS), 34 AS/TBMN patients (58.8% male) from 12 unrelated families were found positive for heterozygous c.

We conducted a study to evaluate the usefulness of a Smartphone app called TRIP Doctor® to provide telemedicine to international travelers.
Methods: Participants over 18 years old attending our travel clinic at Hospital Clinic in Barcelona were invited to participate during 2017-2019.
Aim: To present the pathohistological and clinical characteristics of five Croatian families with Alport spectrum disorders caused by splice acceptor pathogenic variant c.193-2A>C in COL4A4 at the genomic position chr2:227985866.
Methods: The study enrolled five probands with kidney biopsy analysis and five family members.
Molecular epidemiology of HIV-1 infection in treatment-naive HIV-1 infected persons from Croatia was investigated. We included 403 persons, representing 92.4% of all HIV-positive individuals entering clinical care in Croatia in 2014-2017.

About 15% of AS cases have autosomal mutations of COL4A3 and COL4A4 genes, including homozygous and compound heterozygous mutations. Here, we present a case of a two-year-old boy with autosomal recessive Alport syndrome (ARAS) caused by a novel c.

One area that has been less explored with CNNs is Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography (FDG-PET) is a PET technique employed to obtain a representation of brain metabolic function.

Each early-talker is compared to controls in the same language stage; 10 in Early State I (mean age 1;7) and 10 in Stage II (mean age 2;3). Data are explored to determine if the dissociation is best characterized as one between grammar and semantics, or a difference in cognitive style.
