The rise of the #TheatreCapChallenge in 2017, which saw participants donning surgical caps labeled with their names and roles, promises to be a seemingly simple intervention aimed at improving operating theater communication and patient safety. This narrative review strives to expand upon the perceived and studied benefits of this intervention and address potential concerns that have arisen with the use of these name and role-labeled surgical caps.

A Randomized Controlled Trial Comparing Learners' Decision-making, Anxiety, and Task Load During a Simulated Airway Crisis Using Two Difficult Airway Aids.

Introduction: The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) difficult airway algorithm and the Vortex approach are difficult airway aids. Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) offers new hope for patients with neuropathic pain. SCS "neuromodulates" the transmission and response to "painful" stimuli. The efficacy of SCS has been established in the treatment of a variety of neuropathic pain conditions and more recently in refractory angina pectoris, peripheral vascular disease, and failed back surgery syndrome.

Median arcuate ligament syndrome--a novel treatment using an intrathecal morphine pump to relieve intractable visceral pain.

Purpose: Median arcuate ligament syndrome, which presents with intractable visceral pain, is difficult to both diagnose and treat. This case report describes the first use of an intrathecal morphine pump as an effective therapeutic intervention.
