Background: Current evidence on the role of macro- and micronutrients in the aetiopathogenesis of endometriosis is controversial.
Objectives: In this systematic review, we aimed to investigate the effect of macronutrients, dairy products, fruits, and vegetables on the occurrence and progression of endometriosis.
Materials And Methods: A systematic literature review of eligible articles retrieved from medical databases, including PubMed, Cochrane, and Academic Search, was performed from inception to May 2023.
With the advent of antibiotic-eluting polymeric materials for targeting recalcitrant infections, using preclinical models to study biofilms are crucial for improving the treatment efficacy in periprosthetic joint infections. The stratification of risk and severity of infections is needed to develop an effective clinical dosing framework with better treatment outcomes. We use in vivo and in vitro implant-associated infection models to demonstrate that methicillin-sensitive and resistant (MSSA and MRSA) have model-dependent distinct implant and peri-implant tissue colonization patterns.

Purposes: One notable anomaly, presence of distomolars, arises beyond the typical sequence of the human dental system. In this study, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) based machine learning methods were employed to classify distomolar tooth existence using panoramic radiography (PR).
Methods: PRs dataset, composed of 117 subjects with distomolar teeth and 146 subjects without distomolar teeth, was constructed.
Spontaneous hemoperitoneum in pregnancy (SHIP) is defined as sudden, nontraumatic intraperitoneal bleeding that occurs during pregnancy or up to 42 days postpartum. The incidence ranges between 4 and 4.9 per 100 000 births.

Local delivery of non-opioid analgesic drugs directly in the joint space from the UHMWPE component of the prosthesis would be highly beneficial to increase the efficacy of the drugs, decreasing the overall side effects and the risk of opioid addiction. It has been shown that effective concentrations of local analgesics can be achieved by eluting from analgesic-blended UHMWPE; however, this approach is limited by the decrease in mechanical properties resulting from the extent of phase separation of the blended drugs from the polymeric matrix.

Diverse populations experienced the pandemic differently, highlighting pre-existing inequalities and creating new challenges in recovery. Understanding the effects across diverse populations and identifying protective factors is crucial for guiding future pandemic preparedness.

Limited etiological data on RPL prompts comprehensive evaluations, often yielding no pathological findings. Emerging research implicates endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in various reproductive processes, yet its association with RPL remains understudied.

Background: We aimed to evaluate the effects of 6 weeks of agomelatine versus fluoxetine treatment on cognition and sleep.
Methods: Agomelatine 25 mg/day and fluoxetine 20 mg/day were administered to major depressive disorder (MDD) patients. Assessments were conducted before the treatment and at the sixth week of treatment via psychometric measures and comprehensive neurocognitive assessments of various functions, including executive skills, attention, memory, verbal fluency, and speed of processing.
Background: Panoramic radiography (PR) is available to determine the contact relationship between maxillary molar teeth (MMT) and the maxillary sinus floor (MSF). However, as PRs do not provide clear and detailed anatomical information, advanced imaging methods can be used.
Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of deep learning (DL) applications that assess the relationship of the MSF to the first maxillary molar teeth (fMMT) and second maxillary molar teeth (sMMT) on PRs with data confirmed by cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).
Background: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) profoundly impacts the nervous system, leading to neurological deficits including HIV-associated neurocognitive disorder (HAND). HAND represents the most common neurological comorbidity among people with HIV (PWH), and alcohol use may exacerbate cognitive deficits, especially in vulnerable populations. This study investigated relationships between alcohol use and cognition in an underserved cohort of PWH, on the hypothesis that alcohol misuse exacerbates cognitive deficits.

Additionally, pelvic extramesorectal region, which is included in the clinical target volume (CTV) of radiotherapy, may contain information. Therefore, we aimed to compare predictive rates of radiomics analysis with features extracted from segmentations of tumor, tumor+mesorectum, and CTV.

Background: Arthrofibrosis is a joint disorder characterized by excessive scar formation in the joint tissues. Vitamin E is an antioxidant with potential anti-fibroblastic effect. The aim of this study was to establish an arthrofibrosis rat model after joint replacement and assess the effects of vitamin E supplementation on joint fibrosis.

In this study, we used ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), commonly employed as a bearing material for joint implants, to deliver a wide set of analgesics and the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug tolfenamic acid. We blended the drugs with UHMWPE and processed the blend by compression molding and sterilization by low-dose gamma irradiation.

In this retrospective study, we evaluated the effect of GLP-1RA in patients with FPLD.
Research Design And Methods: We analyzed data, reported with SDs, from 14 patients with FPLD (aged 58 ± 12 years; 76.
Background: While antibiotics remain our primary tools against microbial infection, increasing antibiotic resistance (inherent and acquired) is a major detriment to their efficacy. A practical approach to maintaining or reversing the efficacy of antibiotics is the use of other commonly used therapeutics, which show synergistic antibacterial action with antibiotics. Here, we investigated the extent of antibacterial synergy between the antibiotic gentamicin and the anti-inflammatory ketorolac regarding the dynamics of biofilm growth, the rate of acquired resistance, and the possible mechanism of synergy.

We report on 30 females and 16 males from 10 countries with biallelic null variants in CAVIN1 gene (mean age, 12 years; range, 2 months to 41 years). Hypertriglyceridemia was seen in 79% (34/43), hepatic steatosis in 82% (27/33) but diabetes mellitus in only 21% (8/44).
