The aim of the study was to specify treatment policy in nephroptosis on the basis of characteristics of the onset, development and course of the disease. A total of 83 patients with nephroptosis were examined. The rotation angles of the kidney were summed using standard excretory urograms in clino- and orthostasis.

Nitrofurylacrylic acid sodium salt is a substance of moderate toxicity. Its LD50 for male rats after oral administration comprises 1220 mg/kg, for female rats--1400 mg/kg. The minimal toxic dose, in case of long-term administration comprises 14 mg/kg.

The distribution of the abnormal haemoglobins was estimated in 3763 blood samples of subjects from central part of Cuba. A high incidence of HbS carriers is shown. Some considerations on the presence of the S haemoglobin and gene flow intensity in the europeoid and negro groups in the central part of Cuba are represented.

The results are presented of toxico-hygienic investigations of dehydroacetic acid sodium salt (DHASS) proposed as a food additive. The compound toxicity values have been assessed, and late results of the preservative influence on the body of experimental animals after its oral intake have been studied. An approximate value of daily intake (AVDI) of the compound has been calculated.

The results of screening for G-6-PD deficiency carried out in a sample of 3083 subjects of the central region of Cuba have been analysed in the present study. The frequency of G-6-PD deficiency in this population is high. The proportion of G-6-DP deficient subjects in the negroid group was higher than that encountered in the group of white.
