Background: Continued breastfeeding reduces infant mortality and provides nutritional, immunological, and developmental benefits for the child.

Objectives: A prospective cohort study conducted in 2015 followed 608 children who were breastfed between 6 and 24 months. The study assessed the risk of breastfeeding interruption at 12, 18, and 24 months, as well as the factors associated with this outcome, in a cohort of newborns in Rio Branco, using the life table method.

Effects of age, period, and cohort on mortality by prostate cancer among men in the state of Acre, in the Brazilian Western Amazon.

The present study aimed to analyze the effects of age, time period, and birth cohort on the temporal evolution of mortality rates due to prostate cancer in men from the state of Acre, Brazil, in the period of 1990 to 2019. This is an ecological study in which the temporal trend was evaluated by the joinpoint method, estimating the annual percentage variations of the mortality rates. The age-period-birth cohort effects were calculated by using the Poisson Regression method, using estimation functions.

Minimum acceptable diet in a cohort of children aged between 6 and 15 months: Complementary feeding assessment and associated factors in the Brazilian western Amazon.

Objective: The goal of the article was to assess complementary feeding patterns, and associated factors, of children between 6 and 15-month old in Rio Branco-Acre, Brazil, based on the minimum acceptable diet indicator.

Methods: This study was cross-sectional, including 857 children between ages 6 and 15 mo, from a 2015 birth cohort of Rio Branco, Brazil. The prevalence of complementary feeding indicators, minimum meal frequency, minimum dietary diversity, and minimum acceptable diet was estimated based on the recommendations of the World Health Organization.

Introduction: Protective loop-ileostomy is one of the most common interventions in abdominal surgery to provide an alternative intestinal outlet until sufficient healing of a distal anastomosis has occurred. However, closure of a loop-ileostomy is also associated with complications. Thus, knowledge of the optimal time interval between primary and secondary surgery is crucial.

Low-carbon cows: From microbial metabolism to the symbiotic planet.

This article focuses on two projects - one at a large chemical company and the other at a small start-up - to intervene in the relations between cows and ruminal microbes to reduce bovine methane emissions. It describes these interventions as 'symbiotic engineering': a biopolitical technique targeting holobionts and becoming effective by working on interlaced sets of living things. Based on the analysis of these cases, the article elucidates a planetary symbiopolitics (Helmreich) that connects 'molecular biopolitics' (Rose) and 'microbiopolitics' (Paxson) to 'bovine biopolitics' (Lorimer, Driessen) and the politics of climate change.

We performed a systematic review of four databases to determine if the evidence supports a short or long duration nap during night shifts to mitigate fatigue, and/or improve health, safety, or performance for emergency services and public safety personnel (PROSPERO CRD42020156780). We focused on experimental research and evaluated the quality of evidence with the grading of recommendations, assessment, development, and evaluation (GRADE) framework. We used the Cochrane Collaboration's risk of bias tool to assess bias and reported findings using the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) statement.

Identification and In-Depth Analysis of the Novel FGFR2-NDC80 Fusion in a Cholangiocarcinoma Patient: Implication for Therapy.

Fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2) fusions have emerged as a new therapeutic target for cholangiocarcinoma in clinical practice following the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of Pemigatinib in May 2020. FGFR2 fusions can result in a ligand-independent constitutive activation of FGFR2 signaling with a downstream activation of multiple pathways, including the mitogen-activated protein (MAPK) cascade. Until today, only a limited number of fusion partners have been reported, of which the most prevalent is BicC Family RNA Binding Protein (BICC1), representing one-third of all detected FGFR2 fusions.

Napping on the night shift and its impact on blood pressure and heart rate variability among emergency medical services workers: study protocol for a randomized crossover trial.

Background: There is an emerging body of evidence that links exposure to shift work to cardiovascular disease (CVD). The risk of coronary events, such as myocardial infarction, is greater among night shift workers compared to day workers. There is reason to believe that repeated exposure to shift work, especially night shift work, creates alterations in normal circadian patterns of blood pressure (BP) and heart rate variability (HRV) and that these alterations contribute to increased risk of CVD.

[Un- and dedifferentiated endometrial carcinoma : A rare entity with a wide range of differential diagnosis].

Dedifferentiated endometrial carcinomas (ECs) are composed of undifferentiated EC and a FIGO grade 1 or 2 endometrioid carcinoma. The undifferentiated component represents a malignant epithelial neoplasm with no obvious differentiation and immunohistochemical loss of PAX8, E‑cadherin and focal expression of EMA and/or CK18 and the predominant presence of nuclear staining for INI1 (SMARCB1) and BRG1 (SMARCA4). The main differential diagnoses include poorly differentiated endometrioid EC, neuroendocrine carcinoma, lymphoma, plasmocytoma, high-grade endometrial stromal sarcomas, undifferentiated uterine sarcomas (UUS), carcinosarcomas, and metastases to the endometrium.
