Background And Objective: A decision-to-delivery interval (DDI) of 30 minutes for emergency Caesarean sections (CS) has been widely recommended, but there is little evidence to support it. Recent studies however, have questioned not only the practicability of this target but also its anticipated beneficial effect on neonatal outcome and medico-legal implications. Our objective in this study was to find out the time between decision-delivery interval and perinatal outcome of emergency caesarean section at a tertiary care institution in Nigeria Methods: This was a retrospective study of cases of emergency Caesarean section performed over a 12-month period.
