  • - This study investigated the impact of continuous passive motion (CPM) shoulder exercises on lymphedema in breast cancer patients, comparing a group receiving a combination of CPM and complete decongestive therapy (CDT) to a control group receiving only CDT.
  • - Thirty patients participated, and outcomes like shoulder range of motion, limb volume, and quality of life were measured over 15 treatment sessions; both groups showed improvements, but there were no significant differences between the two groups.
  • - The research concluded that while CPM improved certain measures slightly, it did not significantly reduce breast cancer-related lymphedema compared to CDT alone.
