Tunable TiZrMoC Coatings: A Comprehensive Study of Microstructure, Mechanical Properties, and Wear Resistance.

TiZrMoC coatings were deposited on Si(100) substrates using a DC dual magnetron sputtering. The composition was controlled by adjusting the sputtering parameters of the TiZrMo and graphite targets. The influence of graphite target current on the resulting coating properties was explored.

Novel Targeted Agents in Advanced and Recurrent Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer: A Silver Lining in the Therapy of a Chemoresistant Disease?

Low-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (LGSOC) is a rare subtype of epithelial ovarian cancer, characterized by a unique molecular background and specific clinical behavior. A growing body of molecular data underscores LGSOC as a distinct disease entity; however, clinical evidence on the optimal treatment regimens for LGSOC remains limited due to the low incidence of the disease. Consequently, treatment recommendations for LGSOC are still often derived from findings on the more common high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) and typically focus on radical cytoreductive surgery and platinum-based chemotherapy.

Prognostic role of transcription factor in patients with endometrial cancer of no specific molecular profile (NSMP) subtype.

Objective: As more than 50% of newly diagnosed endometrial cancers remain classified as 'no specific molecular subtype' (NSMP) due to a lack of established biomarkers to further improve molecular subtyping, this study aims to evaluate the prognostic value of in endometrial cancers of NSMP subtype.

Methods: Prospectively collected molecular profiling data of all consecutive patients with endometrial cancer who underwent primary surgery at our department between August 2017 and June 2022 and for whom both molecular profiling and clinical follow-up data were available were retrospectively evaluated. Tumor specimens were evaluated by combined mismatch repair protein immunohistochemistry and targeted next-generation hotspot sequencing.

The Prognostic Value of the Fibrinogen-Albumin-Ratio Index (FARI) in Patients with Advanced Vulvar Cancer.

The present study aims to evaluate the pretherapeutic Fibrinogen-Albumin-Ratio Index (FARI), as currently reliable biomarkers to predict therapy response and prognosis of patients with advanced vulvar cancer are missing. Data of 124 consecutive patients, who underwent primary resection for vulvar cancer ≥ pT1b, were retrospectively analyzed. Associations between the FARI and disease recurrence were assessed fitting receiver operating characteristics (ROC) and binary logistic regression models; univariate and multivariable Cox regression models for disease-specific survival (DSS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were performed.

Impact of surgeons' experience and the single-shot perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis on outcome in stapedotomy.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate whether surgeons´ experience and perioperative single-shot antibiotic prophylaxis affect outcome of patients undergoing stapes surgery.

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively evaluated audiological outcomes and postoperative complications of 538 consecutive patients who underwent stapes surgery at a single tertiary referral center between 1990 and 2017. Effects of different clinical variables, including single-shot antibiotic prophylaxis and surgeons' experience on outcome were assessed.

[Systemic AL-amyloidosis with extensive pulmonary and vascular lesions].

Here is an observation data on systemic AL-amiloidosis with primary lesion of lungs and vessels (a false hemorrhagic syndrome, ischemic insult in the region of middle cerebral artery). At the same time lesions of kidneys and heart became of minor significance. Amiloid lesion of lungs was characterized by unusual combination of symptoms: a galloping hydrothorax, a vast focus in the consolidation of pulmonary tissue with focuses of calcification, relapsing pneumothorax.
