Objectives: Dental bone formation involves various cellular and molecular mechanisms, and phytoestrogens such as formononetin (FORM) are promising because of their estrogenic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects. This study investigated the effect of FORM on osteoblast proliferation, differentiation, and mineralization in combination with spongiosa granulates (BO) in vitro.
Materials And Methods: Human fetal osteoblast cells (hFOB1.
Purpose: The aim of the present study was to perform a histopathologic and immunohistochemical investigation of the effects of vitamin C on bone healing in rats exposed to nicotine.
Materials And Methods: A total of 52 male Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned to 4 main groups: control, vitamin C, nicotine, and nicotine plus vitamin C. The rats in the nicotine groups were injected with nicotine at 12-hour intervals for 4 weeks.

Objective: To investigate the effect of recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) identification on the complications after total thyroidectomy and lobectomy.
Methods: Total 134 consecutive patients undergoing total thyroidectomy or thyroid lobectomy from January 2003 to November 2004 were investigated retrospectively. Patients were divided into two groups: RLN identified (Group A) or not (Group B).
Background: We aimed to investigate the effect of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) on pulmonary lipid peroxidation and tissue damage in experimental obstructive jaundice (OJ) stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in this study.
Materials And Methods: We randomized 40 rats into five groups. Group A: Sham (n = 8); group B: OJ (n = 8); group C: OJ + lipopolysaccharide (LPS; n = 8); group D: OJ + NAC + LPS (n = 8); group E: OJ + LPS + NAC (n = 8).
