Objectives: The role of hematologic, inflammatory and biochemical parameters as biomarkers, their role in identifying risky patients in the early stage and their role in prognosis in COVID-19 Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were investigated.
Methods: The study included patients who were hospitalized and followed up with a prediagnosis of COVID-19 in the first wave in our country at the University of Health Sciences, Sisli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital Demographic and clinical characteristics as well as complete blood count, C reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), fibrinogen (FIB), ferritin, albumin (ALB), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels on admission, third, seventh and 14th days were analyzed. Patients were grouped and compared according to the occurrence of death during hospital follow-up.
Introduction: : Immune responses against Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) may be highly complex. It has been suggested that T-cell fatigue develops due to continuous stimulation of T-cells by SARS-CoV-2 in Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19). It was aimed to assess peripheral lymphocyte subsets and T-cell exhaustion in various clinical courses of the disease in patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

This study focuses on adapting and validating the Turkish version of the WHOQOL-HIV Bref, a tool developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to measure health-related quality of life in PLWH. This adaptation is based on the generic WHOQOL-Bref Turkish and WHOQOL-HIV Bref inventory.

In this study, we aimed to identify 30-day mortality risk factors and assess infectious diseases consultants' preferences for combination or monotherapy.
Methods: The study was conducted in four hospitals in Istanbul, Turkey, involving 140 adult ICU beds and 336,780 ICU-bed-days between 1 January 2014, and 31 December 2021.

Objectives: Bloodstream infections (BSI) are associated with high morbidity and mortality. The aim of our study is to determine whether there is a relationship between certain risk factors such as the underlying disease, patient's medical history, or interventional procedures and multidrug resistant (MDR) bacterial infection and to determine the risk factors for mortality.
Methods: Two hundred and twenty-two outpatients and inpatients who were diagnosed with bacteremia over a 6-month period were included in the study.
Expansins, which are plant cell wall loosening proteins associated with cell growth, have been identified as a multigene family. Plant expansin proteins are an important family that functions in cell growth and many of developmental processes including wall relaxation, fruit softening, abscission, seed germination, mycorrhiza and root nodule formation, biotic and abiotic stress resistance, invasion of pollen tube stigma and organogenesis. In addition, it is thought that increasing the efficiency of plant expansin genes in plants plays a significant role, especially in the production of secondary bioethanol.

Objective: The electromechanical window (EMW) was investigated as a new predictor of arrhythmia in the presence of long QT. However, the use of EMW to predict idiopathic frequent ventricular premature complexes (PVCs) in those with normal QT intervals has not been clarified.
Patients And Methods: This single-center study included consecutive patients who presented to the Cardiology Clinic with palpitations and were found to have idiopathic PVC on 24-hour Holter monitoring.
Purpose: The present study aimed to examine the dorsal approach to complex MCP joint dislocation and to compare our clinical results with others reported in the literature.

Objectives: Adherence to antiviral treatment is important for treatment success and prevention of resistance. It was aimed to determine treatment adherence to nucleoside/nucleotide analogs and factors influencing on adherence.
Methods: The study included 168 patients who received oral nucleoside/nucleotide analog with diagnosis of chronic hepatitis for at least 1 year.
Purpose: Sleep disturbance is among the most important geriatric syndromes, and its evaluation is part of the routine comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA). Previous studies have demonstrated that older patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have poorer sleep quality than younger control patients. However, there needs to be more data on the sleep quality of older patients with RA with age-matched controls.

A cross-sectional study was conducted using an online questionnaire to collect data about IPC and AS measures in participating ICUs. The study participants were Infectious Diseases-International Research Initiative (IDI-IR) members, committed as per their institutional agreement form.

The bHLH proteins form one of the largest families of transcription factors found in plants that act as homo- or heterodimers to regulate the expression of their target genes. The bHLH transcription factor is involved in many aspects of plant development and metabolism, including photomorphogenesis, light signal transduction, secondary metabolism, and stress response.

This study aims to describe the cutaneous disorders that have developed in HIV-infected patients and to investigate the factors that may be related, such as relationships to drug use and CD4 counts.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included people living with HIV and being followed by our hospital's infectious diseases clinic after being referred to the dermatology clinic because of skin lesions.

Introduction: Ventricular arrhythmias are caused by scar tissue in patients with ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy. The gold standard imaging technique for detecting scar tissue is magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, MRI is not feasible for use as a screening test, and also cannot be used in patients who have received an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD).

Objective: The aim of the study is to determine the prevalence and associated factors of reduced bone mineral density (BMD) among men with suppressed viral load taking antiretroviral therapy.
Methods: The study was conducted as a cross-sectional design between January to April 2019.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, case reports have been published where patients with severe asthma using biological agents survived with a mild course of illness and encouraged the continuation of biological therapies in patients with severe asthma. However, contrary to previous information, a more severe course of COVID-19 has recently been reported in severe asthmatics using biological therapy compared to the general population. To evaluate the COVID-19 rate and disease severity in severe asthmatics using biological agents.
