Background: The closure of a patent foramen ovale (PFO) using transseptal puncture has particular advantages and disadvantages. Thus, transseptal puncture should be re-evaluated in detail.
Aims: We aimed to assess the effectiveness of the detailed transseptal puncture technique in patients who underwent PFO closure due to cryptogenic stroke or transient ischemic attack in terms of residual shunts and atrial fibrillation.
Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) constitutes a family of bone fragility disorders characterized by both genetic and clinical heterogeneity. Several different mouse models reproduce the classic features of OI, and the most-commonly studied carry either a spontaneous or genetically induced pathogenic variant in the Col1a1 or Col1a2 gene. When OI is caused by primary alterations of type I collagen, it represents a systemic connective tissue disease that, in addition to the skeleton, also affects several extra-skeletal tissues and organs such as skin, teeth, lung, heart, and others, where the altered type I collagen is also expressed.

Insufficiency of autophagy is thought to contribute to several age-related diseases including osteoporosis. Consistent with this, elimination of autophagy from the osteoblast lineage reduces bone formation and causes low bone mass.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and sialic acid (Sia) levels, and their possible relations with chronotypes in ADHD.
Methods: The study included 100 drug-naive children with ADHD and 74 healthy children as controls.
A structural or functional cervix problem prevents a woman from carrying a full-term pregnancy, which leads to the disease known as cervical insufficiency. Cervical insufficiency is partially inherited, and in certain situations, variations in genes related to connective tissue metabolism may be involved. The main objective of this investigation was to describe the collagen type I alpha 1 chain (COL1A1) gene rs1800012 polymorphism and the transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGFB1) gene rs1800471 polymorphism in a cohort of patients suffering from cervical insufficiency.

However, immunosuppression agents administered after kidney transplantation can increase the risk of opportunistic infections. Microsporidia are obligate intracellular pathogens that can be fatal in immunosuppressed patients.

We aimed to investigate the promoter methylation status of and tumor suppressor genes in endometrial endometrioid carcinomas with p53 wild type and mismatch repair proficient. Genomic DNAs were isolated from 50 specimens (15 formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tumor tissues, 15 paired blood samples and 20 normal endometrial tissues). Bisulfide modification and methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction were performed.

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is required to maintain balanced cellular activity. With impaired ER functions, protein accumulation occurs, resulting in ER stress, which plays a role in the etiopathogenesis of many diseases.

A boron carbide (BC) precursor was obtained from heating of the CE at 400 °C for 4 h. The precursor was pyrolyzed under argon flow in the interval of 1300-1550 °C for 4 h and at 1400 °C for 1-4 h, respectively.

We aimed to identify these triggering factors and analyze their relationship with the Mediterranean fever gene mutation status. We prepared a questionnaire that included the most commonly mentioned possible trigger factors of familial Mediterranean fever.

The main goals of this study were to increase the amount of single-cell RNA sequence data for osteoblasts and osteocytes, to compare cells from the periosteum to those inside bone, and to clarify the major categories of cell types associated with murine bone. We created an atlas of murine bone-associated cells by harmonizing published datasets with in-house data from cells targeted by Osx1-Cre and Dmp1-Cre driver strains.

CMA contributes to several cellular processes, including stress response and proteostasis. Age-associated increase in cellular stressors and decrease in CMA contribute to pathologies associated with aging in various tissues.

Also, we aimed to investigate the effect of tongue edema on the oxygen saturation values (SpO) measured two h after extubation.
Methods: One hundred patients aged 18-65 years, who were followed up with mechanical ventilation in the ICU from the 0th day of intubation, were included.
Single-cell RNA sequencing has led to numerous novel designations for mesenchymal cell types associated with bone. Consequently, there are now multiple designations for what appear to be the same cell type. In addition, existing datasets contain relatively small numbers of mature osteoblasts and osteocytes and there has been no comparison of periosteal bone cells to those at the endosteum and trabecular bone.

The measures taken within the sector should be determined independently for each subsector. To reduce and prevent environmental impacts, it is necessary to be able to measure the relevant impact prior to its occurrence.

Objective: Classification of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) according to their phenotypes is important in terms of understanding which parameter has clinical and laboratory implications. This study was designed to measure the follicular fluid total oxidant capacity (TOC) and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and DNA degradation products of 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) levels in patients with different PCOS phenotypes undergoing In-Vitro Fertilization/Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (IVF/ICSI).
Patients And Methods: Thirty women who were diagnosed with PCOS and twenty infertile patients who did not have the clinical and laboratory findings of PCOS were included.
