Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of preoperative parameters such as retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, visual acuity (VA), visual field (VF), and tumour volume on postoperative outcomes in patients with pituitary adenoma.
Design: Retrospective study.
Participants: Two-hundred and seventy-six eyes from 142 patients were included.
Purpose: The objective of this study was to illustrate the changes in ocular findings, meibography, and tear break-up time (TBUT) values in pediatric patients with ocular rosacea following a standardized treatment.
Methods: The study included consecutive patients diagnosed with ocular rosacea, referred to a tertiary hospital between 2021 and 2023. Each patient underwent biomicroscopic examinations, non-invasive TBUT assessments, corneal fluorescein staining (evaluated using the Oxford scoring system), and meibography.
Purpose: Investigation of the relationship between blepharitis-related symptom scores, tear film functions, and conjunctival microbiota in patients with ocular rosacea (OR) compared with healthy controls was aimed.
Methods: Consecutive 33 eyes of 33 patients with OR who were admitted from the dermatology clinic and age-matched and gender-matched 30 healthy controls were included in the study. Tear breakup time (TBUT), Schirmer score, and blepharitis symptom score (BLISS) were recorded for each patient.
Background: This experimental study aimed to define a biochemical marker that will enable early diagnosis of acute compartment syndrome (ACS) of extremities, a mortal condition that occurs due to trauma.
Methods: A total of 15 Wistar rats were included in the study in which saline infusion technique, a clinically compatible ACS model, was applied. After the rats were anesthetized with ketamine-xylazine, the in-compartment pressure of the hind limb was slowly increased with saline delivered through the angiocatheter, and after reaching the target compartment pressure, the pressure level was kept with a rubber tourniquet.

Methods: Forty-five eyes of 45 healthy volunteers aged between 18 and 60 years were included in this study. CCT of all cases was evaluated with USP, NCT, and SM devices.
Herein, we have reported the synthesis, characterization and catalytic activity of highly stable gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) using red cabbage extract (RCE) under UV irradiation. The anthocyanin groups predominantly existing in RCE play an essential role for biosynthesis of stable Au NPs. The reasons for using anthocyanins: 1) they act as chelating agents for preferentially reacting with gold ions (Au) to form Au- anthocyanin complexes, 2) as light-active reductants for reduction of Au to zero valent Au under UV irradiation and 3) as stabilizing agent for preventing Au NPs from aggregation in high salt concentration owing to their unique salt tolerance property.

Materials And Methods: Forty-two female Wistar rats were randomly divided into 7 groups: group A, TNBS + intraperitoneal (IP) pentoxifylline; group B, TNBS + IP saline; group C, TNBS + intrarectal (IR) pentoxifylline; group D, TNBS + IR saline; group E, IP pentoxifylline + TNBS; group F, IP saline + TNBS; group G, IR saline. Pentoxifylline was given daily for 3 days before or 6 days after the induction of colitis.
A 23-day-old infant referred to the neonatal intensive care unit with difficulty breathing and inspiratory stridor increasing with exercise. Medical history included a cardiothoracic surgery for transposition of the great arteries, patent ductus arteriosus, atrial septal defect, and a history of intensive care unit from surgery. Flexible fiberoptic transnasal laryngoscopy revealed subglottic stenosis that was probably caused by prolonged intubation with a higher airway pressure.

We propose a method called Functional Mesh Model with Temporal Measurements (FMM-TM) to estimate a functional relationship among voxels using temporal data, and employ these relationships for brain decoding. For each sample, we measure Blood Oxygenation Level Dependent (BOLD) responses from each voxel, and construct a functional mesh around each voxel (called seed voxel) with its nearest neighbors selected using distance metrics namely Pearson correlation, cosine similarity and Euclidean distance. Then, we represent the BOLD response of a seed voxel in terms of linear combination of BOLD responses of its p-nearest neighbors.

Materials And Methods: A total of 29 patients with histologically proven malignant gastric tumor and 29 healthy blood donors were enrolled in this study. DR-70 immunoassay was performed using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit to quantify the serum levels of fibrin degradation products.
Purpose: Ocular inflammation is a frequent extraintestinal manifestation of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and may parallel disease activity. In this study, we evaluated the utility of a choroidal thickness measurement in assessing IBD activity.
Methods: A total of 62 eyes of 31 patients with IBD [Crohn's disease (CD), n=10 and ulcerative colitis (UC), n=21] and 104 eyes of 52 healthy blood donors were included in this study.
