Methods: The sample of this parallel design randomized controlled trial consisted of 41 children aged 7 to 16 who were receiving chemotherapy treatment in the pediatric hematology and oncology wards of a university hospital. Data was collected with the Child Anxiety Scale-State, Child Fatigue Scale-24-Hours, and Visual Fatigue Scale in both groups before and during the first three days of chemotherapy treatment.
This review paper critically examines the current state of research concerning the analysis and derivatization of aldehyde, aromatic hydrocarbons and carboxylic acids components in foods and drinks samples, with a specific focus on the application of Chromatographic techniques. These diverse components, as vital contributors to the sensory attributes of food, necessitate accurate and sensitive analytical methods for their identification and quantification, which is crucial for ensuring food safety and compliance with regulatory standards. In this paper, High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatographic (GC) methods for the separation, identification, and quantification of aldehydes in complex food matrices were reviewed.

Background: Nurse competence is important for nursing care quality and patient safety. Executive (charge) nurses play a main role in the nurse competency assessment.
Purpose: The present study aims to (1) assess the technical success and limb salvage rates of endovascular therapy in patients with critical limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) and infra-popliteal Trans-Atlantic Inter-Society Consensus (TASC) C/D lesions according to the updated 2015 TASC II classification and (2) to present our institutional experience.
Methods: A single-center retrospective study was conducted on patients with TASC C/D CLTI who underwent endovascular treatment between 2012 and 2017. The follow-up protocol consisted of Doppler ultrasound conduction every 3 months for the first year unless patients showed symptoms of CLTI.
Purpose: The primary purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of two different catheter systems (closed IV catheter system: BD Nexiva™, peripheral open IV catheter: BD Insyte™ Autoguard™) on first insertion success, catheter indwelling time, and the catheter complications.
Method: This randomized controlled study used a single-blind and parallel trial design guided by the CONSORT checklist. The "Peripheral Intravenous Catheter (PIVC) Bundle" was applied to all patients.

Herein, we aimed to describe the outcomes of patients with blood stream infections due to carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CR-Kp) who received ertapenem plus meropenem combination treatment (EMCT). A total of 53 patients with culture proven CR-Kp bacteremia treated with ertapenem + meropenem were included. The patients with secondary bacteremia due to urinary tract infection exhibited a significantly lower 1-month mortality (OMM), particularly in those with microbiological eradication and those with end-of-treatment success.

Three-dimentional (3D) pseudocapacitive nanomaterials with large surface areas and interconnected porous structures have great potential for optoelectronic biointerfaces that can fulfill the requirement of high electrode-electrolyte capacitance to effectively transduce light into stimulating ionic currents. In this study, the integration of 3D manganese dioxide (MnO ) nanoflowers into flexible optoelectronic biointerfaces for safe and efficient photostimulation of neurons is demonstrated.

Currently, optical neuromodulation systems ranging from the nano to the centimeter scale enable neural activity control from the single cell to the organ level in retina, heart, spinal cord, and brain, facilitating a wide range of experiments in intact and freely moving animals in different contexts, such as during social interactions and behavioral tasks. Nanotransducers (, metallic nanoparticles, silicon nanowires, and polymeric nanoparticles) and microfabricated photodiodes convert light to electrical, thermal, and mechanical stimuli that can allow remote and non-contact stimulation of neurons.

This study was carried out to improve the quality of school health services with the operational epidemiology method. The study aimed to describe the current status of the School Health Protection and Improvement Program (SHPIP), the difficulties experienced during its implementation, to develop evidence-based solution methods, and to test the proposed solutions, in a district with a population of 400,513, 20.4% of which is of school age between the ages of 5-19.

It was found that TB-Lum emits chemiluminescent light when exposed to HO in a basic medium, and the presence of substituents and the type of aromatic ring bearing chemiluminescent active group have a direct effect on the compound's sensitivity. Among the members of a large family of metal ions, fluorescent and chemiluminescent TB-Lum exhibited high sensitivity to Cu and Fe ions.

Biogenic amines (BAs) are group of substances that are formed from amino acids by decarboxylation or amination and transamination of aldehydes and ketones. They may have either aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic structure. Their quantity determines their effects, optimum amounts are essential for physiological functions, but excess of BAs causes various toxic effects through out human body.

Tremendous interest in tissue engineering has made it possible to design polymeric scaffolds mimicking the topology and mechanical properties of the native extracellular microenvironment; however, a fundamental question remains unanswered: that is, how the viscoelastic extracellular environment modifies the hierarchical dynamics of lipid membranes. In this work, we used aqueous solutions of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with different molecular weights to mimic the viscous medium of cells and nearly monodisperse unilamellar DMPC/DMPG liposomes as a membrane model.

Therefore, individuals with strong prejudices might be dominated by habitual or "automatic" reactions at the expense of more controlled reactions. Computational theories suggest individual differences in the balance between habitual/model-free and deliberative/model-based decision-making.

Methods: NP was induced by chronic constriction injury (CCI) of the sciatic nerve.
It is a generally accepted perspective that type-II nanocrystal quantum dots (QDs) have low quantum yield due to the separation of the electron and hole wavefunctions. Recently, high quantum yield levels were reported for cadmium-based type-II QDs. Hence, the quest for finding non-toxic and efficient type-II QDs is continuing.
