Psychiatric Sequelae in Adult Open Globe Injury Patients.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate psychiatric sequelae in open globe injury patients and to identify the risk factors associated with these sequelae.

Methods: After a complete ophthalmologic examination, Davidson Trauma Scale (DTS), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and Zung Depression Scale (ZDS) scores were administered to all patients. Patients were divided into 5 groups according to final best corrected visual acuity (BCVA): group 1 (no perception of light, NPL), group 2 [perception of light (PL) or hand movements (HM)], group 3 (1/200 to 19/200), group 4 (20/200 to 20/50), and group 5 (20/40 or above).

Effect of upper eyelid blepharoplasty with or without orbicularis oculi muscle removal on anterior segment parameters, keratometry, and ocular biometry.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of upper eyelid blepharoplasty with or without the removal of a strip of orbicularis oculi muscle on corneal topographic parameters, anterior segment parameters, intraocular pressure, and ocular biometry.

Method: This prospective study examined 428 eyes of 214 patients with dermatochalasis. Patients were divided into two groups randomly: those who underwent orbicularis oculi muscle excision (Group 1) during blepharoplasty and those who did not (Group 2).

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate prognostic factors that may be useful in predicting final visual acuity in patients admitted to the clinic with chemical corneal injuries.

Methods: Data on age, sex, time to admission, irrigation solutions (balanced salt solution or phosphate buffered saline) and type of substance causing chemical injury were recorded. On admission, all patients were evaluated according to Roper Hall and Dua classifications.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the protective or therapeutic effect of thymoquinone (TQ) in a retinal degeneration rat model and its relationships with the retina ultrastructure, heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1), caspase-3, and RPE65 expressions and to determine whether TQ has a therapeutic effect at the biochemical level.

Raftlin - a potential biomarker for axial spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis: An observational study.

Therefore, we have developed an online platform offering free self-help to the Turkish public with modules based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) targeting depression, anxiety, and stress respectively. Massachusetts General Hospital Hairpulling Scale: Validity and Reliability Study of the Turkish Form.

Objective: The aim of this study is to analyze the validity and reliability of the Turkish form of Massachusetts General Hospital Hairpulling Scale (MGH-HPS), which is used to measure the severity of Trichotillomania (TTM).

Methods: Fifty patients diagnosed with TTM according to the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and fifty healthy controls participated in the study. Oxidative stress in maternal milk and cord blood in gestational diabetes mellitus: a prospective study.

Background: Reduced antioxidant defenses may reflect a poor protective response against oxidative stress and this may be implicated in progression of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Oxidative stress induced by hyperglycemia plays a major role in micro and macrovascular complications, which imply endothelial dysfunction.
