Reasons for Declining Applicant Numbers in Radiation Oncology From the Applicants' Perspective: Results From the Applicant Concerns and Radiation Oncology Sources Survey (ACROSS).

Purpose: Applications to radiation oncology in the United States have decreased the past 3 years, resulting in unfilled residency positions (30 [14.5%] in 2019 and 35 [18.5%] in 2020).

Factors associated with increased incidence of severe toxicities following yttrium-90 resin microspheres in the treatment of hepatic malignancies.

Aim: To further define variables associated with increased incidences of severe toxicities following administration of yttrium-90 ((90)Y) microspheres.

Methods: Fifty-eight patients undergoing 79 treatments were retrospectively assessed for development of clinical and laboratory toxicity incidence following (90)Y administration. Severe toxicity events were defined using Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 4.

Patterns of failure for glioblastoma multiforme following concurrent radiation and temozolomide.

Purpose: To analyse patterns of failure in patients with glioblastoma multiforme treated with concurrent radiation and temozolomide.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective review of patients treated with concurrent radiation and temozolomide was performed. Twenty patients treated at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with biopsy-proven disease, documented disease progression after treatment, and adequate radiation dosimetry and imaging records were included in the study.
