Introduction: Castleman's disease is an extremely rare disease in the abdomen region characterized by benign lymphoepithelial proliferation.

Case Presentation: We report a case of a 63-year-old female who presented with abdominal pain. Abdominal CT Angio and dynamic contrast-enhanced abdominal MRI revealed a mass lesion showing markedly contrast enhancement, no vascular invasion sign, and diffusion restriction lesion in the truncus coelicus bifurcation region.

Management of Spontaneous Major Rectus Sheath Hematoma in a COVID-19 Patient: A Case Report and Literature Review.

A rectus sheath hematoma, which is mostly encountered due to abdominal traumas or anticoagulant use, can be challenging, and a delayed diagnosis may lead to hypovolemic shock and even death. In this study, we aimed to present the management of a case of rectus sheath hematoma that developed in a patient who was hospitalized and under coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) treatment. A 70-year-old female patient was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) due to respiratory failure and developed a sudden onset of tachycardia and hypotension.

Diagnostic biomarkers based on epigenetic changes such as DNA methylation are promising tools for early cancer diagnosis. However, there are significant difficulties in directly and specifically detecting methylated DNA regions. Here, we report an electrochemical sensing system based on magnetic nanoparticles that enable a quantitative and selective analysis of the methylated septin9 (mSEPT9) gene, which is considered a diagnostic marker in early stage colorectal cancer (CRC).

Major Surgical Resections in Abdominopelvic Sarcomas: Clinical Features and Results of 38 patients: A Tertiary-Center Experience.

The Role of CO-RADS Scoring System in the Diagnosis of COVID-19 Infection and its Correlation with Clinical Signs.

Background: Computed tomography (CT) evaluation systematics has become necessary to eliminate the difference of opinion among radiologists in evaluating COVID-19 CT findings.

Introduction: The objectives of this study were to evaluate the efficiency of CO-RADS scoring system in our patients with COVID-19 as well as to examine its correlation with clinical and laboratory findings.

Methods: The CO-RADS category of all patients included in the study was determined by a radiologist who did not know the rtRT-PCR test result of the patients, according to the Covid-19 reporting and data system of Mathias Prokop et al.

The Effects of Ankaferd on Liver Regeneration after Partial Hepatectomy in Rats.

In this study, we aim at investigating the effect of post partial hepatectomy Ankaferd blood stopper (ABS) on liver regeneration in rats. Twenty-four rats were included in our study divided into three groups. (Group A = (Sham) 8 rats, Group B = (control) 8 rats, Group C = (experimental) 8 rats).

Clinical features and surgical outcomes of major urological interventions during cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotheraphy.

Background: Urinary system resections and reconstructions are needed in peritoneal carcinomatosis due to abdominal malignancies. The effect of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy on these urological procedures after reconstruction remains uncertain. The aim of the study is to evaluate major urological interventions during cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy in complex abdominal malignancies with peritoneal carcinomatosis.

The effect of Allium sativum in experimental peritoneal adhesion model in rats.

Methods: Twenty-four Sprague dawley rats were divided into three groups. In Group 1 (sham), laparotomy was performed and stitched up.

Aim: To evaluate the results of synchronous pancreas and liver resection in patients with metastatic carcinoma accompanied by peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) who underwent cytoreductive surgery (CRS)/hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).

Material And Methods: Overall, 35 patients with PC who underwent CRS/HIPEC at Umraniye Education and Research Hospital owing to different etiological causes were evaluated for operation procedure, age, sex, comorbid diseases, ASA score, systemic chemo/radiotherapy, duration of surgery, chemotherapy (CT) protocol applied in HIPEC, amount of bleeding, synchronous hepatobiliary resection interventions during operation and short/long-term mortality and morbidity.

Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) is a rare, life-threatening soft tissue infection that affects the skin, subcutaneous tissue, fascia, and muscle, and is characterized by rapid spread and invasion of pathogens. Treatment is possible with early diagnosis, appropriate antibiotic therapy, and quick surgical intervention. Nevertheless, despite all interventions, it is sometimes difficult to manage NF.

A case of hepatocellular carcinoma mimicking hepatic adenoma.

Hepatocellular adenomas (HA) are benign naturally occurring masses that are rarely reported, and rarely reaching tumor size up to 30 cm. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary malignancy of the liver and usually caused by cirrhosis and more commonly reported tumors in males. It has been reported that presentations may occur with masses that are often less than 5 cm or rarely more than 10 cm.

Intraoperative Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography in patients with complex benign biliary tract pathologies A case series.

Introduction: This study presents data about the intraoperative performance of Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for different types of cases with acute, complex pathologies of the biliary tract.

Diagnosing between papillary carcinoma and reactive papillary changes in an infarcted thyroid nodule after fine needle aspiration and accompanied by a synchronous brain stem astrocytoma.

A 22-year-old patient underwent fine needle aspiration of a nodule at the outer center of the right lobe of the thyroid, and it was reported to be Bethesda system category IV, Hurthle cell follicular neoplasia. The patient, who persented to Onsekiz Mart University Research and Application Hospital, underwent surgery. During right total thyroidectomy, an almost totally infarcted nodule and papillary structures around these infarcted areas were detected.

L-carnitine has a protective effect on the colonic mucosa during abdominopelvic radiotherapy in rats.

Purpose:: To evaluate histopathologically the radioprotective effect of L-carnitine on the colonic mucosa in rats undergoing abdominopelvic irradiation.

Methods:: Thirty-two rats were randomly assigned to four experimental groups: intraperitoneal administration of normal saline (group 1) or L-carnitine (300 mL/kg; group 2), followed in groups 3 and 4, respectively, by one dose of abdominopelvic radiation (20 Gy) 30 min later. Rats were sacrificed 5 days after radiation, and their descending colons were resected for histopathological evaluation of the presence and severity of damage.
