A series of triazole-tethered triazines bearing pharmacophoric features of DNA-targeting agents and non-hydroxamate MMPs inhibitors were synthesized and screened against HCT-116, Caco-2 cells, and normal colonocytes by MTT assay. and surpassed doxorubicin against HCT-116 cells regarding potency (IC = 0.87 and 1.

This may result in an overestimation of the prevalence of those experiencing PCC, as these symptoms are non-specific and common in the general population. In this study, we aimed to compare the burden of persistent symptoms among COVID-19 survivors relative to COVID-19-negative controls.

This study aimed to test non-interventional alternatives to treat PDPH. Our goals were to compare the effectiveness of nebulized dexmedetomidine (DEX) versus neostigmine/atropine in the conservative management of PDPH.

Oxytocin has recently gained significant attention because of its role in the pathophysiology and management of dominant neuropsychiatric disorders. Oxytocin, a peptide hormone synthesized in the hypothalamus, is released into different brain regions, acting as a neurotransmitter. Receptors for oxytocin are present in many areas of the brain, including the hypothalamus, amygdala, and nucleus accumbens, which have been involved in the pathophysiology of depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, autism, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Methods: A self-administered questionnaire about cigarette smoking and personality attributes (Big Five Inventory, ESPAD Questionnaire on Substance Abuse, and Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire). The participants in the study were 90 nonsmokers (NS) and 88 current smokers (CS), who were divided into two groups depending on their cigarette consumption per day (cpd): 55 heavy smokers (HS, >20 cpd) and 33 light smokers (LS, 1-10 cpd).
Background: It is crucial to reduce bleeding during functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). Our primary goal was to evaluate the effect of intravenous lidocaine infusion (ILI) as an adjunct to the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols on intraoperative bleeding during FESS. We hypothesized that ILI could improve the surgical field.

Recent studies indicate that oxytocin could be involved in the regulation of neurological disorders. However, its role in modulating cognition in Alzheimer's disease (AD) has never been explored.

Perioperative dextrose-containing fluid administration has been used as a non-pharmacologic preventive measure against postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). However, its efficacy remains unclear.

Postoperative shivering is a challenging anesthesia-related complication with an incidence range of 20-70%. Amino acids that induce thermogenesis and magnesium sulfate are centrally acting mechanisms that could minimize shivering.

The present study was designed to explore whether the GABARG2 C588 T (rs211037) genetic variant predicts susceptibility to epilepsy and pharmacoresistance among Egyptian children with Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy (IGE).
Methods: A cohort of 210 Egyptian children was divided into two groups for this case-control study: group (I) included 100 children with IGE, group (II) comprised of 110 paediatric healthy controls.
Aims: To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of azithromycin (azm) and/or metronidazole (mtz) on the histopathological features of rats' gingival overgrowth (GO) induced by cyclosporine-A (CsA) in an animal model.
Methods: Ninety male albino rats were divided randomly into six equal groups. The rats of group I received corn oil via gastric feeding for 7 weeks.
In vivo responses to gold nanoparticles (GNPs) vary not only according to the size, shape, surface charge, and capping agent of GNPs but also according to the animal model, the route of administration, and the exposure frequency and duration. We illustrate here the changes in some hematologic parameters, in the hepatic and renal functions, and in the histopathology of solid organs after multiple intraperitoneal injections of 18 nm GNPs in adult male Syrian golden hamsters. We scored the histopathological changes in the liver and kidneys to grade the deleterious effects.

The currently available literature lacks adequate randomised trials examining whether tenodesis of the LHB improves results. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of tenodesis of the LHB on the clinical outcome following hemiarthroplasty for fractures of the proximal humerus.

The risk of avascular necrosis is high; hence, prosthetic replacement is the treatment of choice in older patients with these complex fractures; on the other hand, the longevity of the prosthesis is the main concern in young age. Thus, every effort should be made to fix these fractures in the young.
