Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) is an important zoonotic pathogen. The aim of this paper is to report one polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-positive case of MERS-CoV in a 27-year-old man who was involved in a nationwide longitudinal surveillance study of certain zoonotic diseases in Jordan including MERS-CoV. Whole-blood and nasal swab samples were collected from the man and five camels in the vicinity of his living area.

With a focus on critical care nurses, understanding the dynamics of professional autonomy and professionalism within this context is crucial for advancing nursing practice and improving patient care.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the relationships between perceived nursing professional autonomy and professionalism among critical care nurses in Jordan.
Background: Various factors associated with attitudes toward the utilization of professional psychological help among the school-going population have been explored, but studies from Arabian Gulf countries are lacking. This study aimed to assess attitudes toward seeking professional psychological help, examine how demographic factors and self-esteem are associated with seeking psychological help, and understand the interaction between these variables.
Methods: A cross-sectional correlational design was used.
Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly important in healthcare, with a significant impact on nursing practice. As future healthcare practitioners, nursing students must be prepared to incorporate AI technologies into their job. This study aimed to explore the associated factors with nursing students' intention to use AI.

Objective: To assess the spectrum of unmet needs among patients with cancer in Oman and identify predictors of these needs and their relationship with psychological distress and symptom burden.
Method: A descriptive, correlational study design was used, involving 551 patients with cancer from 2 major healthcare facilities in Muscat, Oman.
Introduction: The development of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) has been associated with improved survival outcomes in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, this association's extent across race and ethnicity remains uncertain. We evaluated the association between the development of irAEs and treatment outcomes across racially diverse groups treated at a safety net hospital.

This study aimed to investigate the seroprevalence of human and livestock brucellosis as well as the incidence of brucellosis in humans in Jordan. A total of 500 human participants (202 exposed and 296 unexposed to livestock) were enrolled in the study.

This research aims to comprehensively assess the challenges faced by nursing students during this transition, exploring key issues, recommending strategies, and analyzing their impact on student perceptions.
Methods: Using a cross-sectional design, the study surveyed 941 nursing students across eight Arab countries-Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Oman, KSA, UAE, and Egypt-to ensure a representative sample and enhance external validity.
Background: Anxiety affects the patient's perception of postoperative pain and causes a significant increase in the consumption of analgesia postoperatively.
Objective: This study assesses the relationship between preoperative anxiety, postoperative pain and postoperative pethidine consumption.
Methods: A prospective cohort design was used.
Background: Providing care for people with dementia incorporates a level of burden which can affect quality of life for both the caregiver and the recipient of care. This study measures the level of burden experienced by Jordanian caregivers for people with dementia and explore related predictors.
Methods: Through a cross-sectional survey, participants were invited through convenience sampling to participate in a structured interview.
Background: Fatigue among patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) receiving haemodialysis imposes a substantial burden on patients' quality of life and expected treatment outcomes. This study explores the perspective on ESKD-related fatigue and contributing factors among Omani patients receiving haemodialysis.
Methods: An exploratory qualitative design was used.
The global incidence of gout has increased rapidly, likely secondary to the increase in the prevalence of conditions that predispose to gout, such as obesity. Depending on the population studied, the prevalence of gout ranges from less than 1 to 6.8%.

The pretest-posttest control group design was conducted among 162 children (75 in the intervention group and 87 in the control group) with obesity aged 6-9 years old at four primary schools in Jordan during the period from March 2021 to July 2021. The results found that, after the intervention, there was a statistically significant change in the scores in the control group vs.

By contrast, screening mammography rates are reliably high, suggesting that screening mammography can be a "teachable moment" to increase LCS uptake among dual-eligible women.
Materials And Methods: This is a prospective survey study conducted at two academic institutions.
Background: Spiritual Care is integral to holistic nursing; however, it often remains underprovided due to a lack of education.
Objective: This study examined perceptions of spirituality and predictors of competence in spiritual care among nursing students in Middle Eastern countries.
Design: A cross-sectional survey was used.
Background: Caring for individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a highly demanding task that can adversely affect the physical and psychological well-being of caregivers.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the burden experienced by caregivers of patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD) in Oman and explore the factors associated with this burden, including demographic and medical characteristics.
Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional was employed.

Medium viscosity strongly affects the dynamics of solvated species and can drastically alter the deactivation pathways of their excited states. This study demonstrates the utility of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) as a room-temperature solid-state medium for optical spectroscopy. As a thermoset elastic polymer, PDMS is transparent in the near ultraviolet, visible, and near infrared spectral regions.
