Bonding neat hydrophobic-rich resins to etched dentin: A proof of concept.

Objectives: To examine whether the effectiveness of current dentin-priming approaches requiring solvated hydrophilic resins may be replicated by modifying the infiltration dynamics of neat methacrylate-based monomers into dry-etched dentin using dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) pretreatments.

Methods: HPO-etched mid-coronal dentin surfaces from human molars were air-dried for 30 s and randomly pretreated with 50 %(v/v) ethanolic DMSO for 20 or 60 s. Untreated samples and an isolated wet-bonding group served as controls.

Background: Avascular necrosis (AVN) is a debilitating complication in sickle cell disease (SCD) patients, and its management is usually challenging. This study aims to evaluate the clinical and epidemiological features and therapeutic options of AVN in sickle cell patients in Qatar.

The General Medical Council within the United Kingdom defines an ES as "a trainer who is selected and appropriately trained to be responsible for the overall supervision and management of a specified trainee's educational progress during a clinical placement or series of placements." This article critically evaluates the current literature to explore the roles of the ES in supporting and monitoring a trainee's progress while discussing challenges associated with the role.
